Election Day Thread

Ill agree with that.

I am enjoying this way more than I thought I would, or should.
I guess after putting my head down and trudging through past 8 years going ā€œAre you fucking kidding me?ā€ almost everyday it’s like a pressure release valve.
We just threw a big orange monkey-wrench into the cogs of your machine. Wrenches thrown into machines wreck the machine.

Sam Harris said not long ago, speaking in support of Clinton and his frustration with her message he said the following, ā€œIf right wing demagogues are the only ones who are willing to speak honestly about our problems, then we will elect right wing demagoguesā€¦ā€ Yup.

We don’t like being told we are racist, we don’t like being called islamophobic, we don’t like being told we’re the problem and we need to change in the face of national and global issues. We do not like being led where we do not want to go. We don’t like being called names and then telling us we cannot fight back because we’re racist, or xenophobes or homophobes. We don’t like safe spaces and safe zones. We don’t like to be lectured in the face of tragedy about how we are to conduct ourselves after we lose 49 Americans to a terrorist attack.
We had enough of being told we’re the problem and we hit the big orange ā€œSTOPā€ button.

Cry, whine and protest all you want, it’s your right. Thank God.

The people who claim to be fighting intolerance, are the ones being intolerant. You would think the party of diversity would let you vote without being harassed or shamed, but if you wore a Trump hat you might have to run for your life. There was a protest in downtown yesterday, where they shouted ā€œlove trumps hateā€, while giving a middle finger in the air. It’s an ass-backward world these people live in.

Edit - the sadness the people in that video showed was their own fault. They were overconfident and didn’t take Trump seriously. They should be mad at Hillary, for a foolish strategy. Rather than go to Arizona, Texas, and Georgia to expand the map, she should have shored up Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio.

That is a good honest answer, I respect it

They did take his comments and relation to nationalists seriously, without that he would have won by even more. Can you imagine how popular he would have been against Hillary without all the negatives?

Oh boy

Has it occurred to you that the tactic of conflating republicans to racists might have provided a temporary feel good, and seemed like a strategic win, but ultimately turned out to be a loss?

The democratic party has created a disease of the mind by doing this and hemorrhaged membership, poisoned relationships, and lost control of every branch of the government.

You really don’t get that, do you?

Agreed. It could prove to make it difficult for them in the future to swing trump supporters back their way after calling them racist bigots… but, that’s 4 years away and that could all be lost.

Know he knows how HE and OBAMA made millions upon millions feel…

My sympathy will be spared at this point for him.

But otherwise, yes, he was actually very good on the whole that night outside the race card bullshit. He did well.

I don’t, and haven’t for awhile, and it has nothing to do with Trump or Clinton.

Atleast in this instance, yup.

Why?

They’d be doing the same had they won

And they would be wrong too.

Learn from Trump, he Hammers his opponents like a motherfucker but the second he has won he has nothing but good Things to say about them.

But he wasn’t calling Trump Hitler

Ummm, the left has been calling republicans racist for the last 8 years at will, and since I was born in fact.

Guess what, I’m pretty sure Trump flipping non swing states that were HEAVY Obama in 2012 wasn’t racism, and that the ā€œur da racistā€ strategy is dead in the water.

But by all means, keep peddling the same nonsense. It really worked out great Tuesday by stopping shitty trump… oh wait…

Trump isn’t even president and he’s already done better than Obama abroad

I am still waiting for someone to explain to me how Trump is a racist, given that Mexican is a nationality and Islam is a religion.

I am still trying to get a feel regarding that White identity policy Thing.

In a way it is necessary amd inevitable given that identity politics is the Name of the Game, however it does not sit quite right with me.

It should not be this way.

Does anybody just go Adam Smith, pure capitalist style, and vote for who they think is going to mess with their money the least?

Or is everything an ideological, symbolic gesture?

There was a great Quote among New Yorker Jews during WWII ,. ā€œyou might think you are American but Hitler knows you are a Jewā€.

You simply cannot escape identity politics if one side starts it unilaterily.
