EK2's All-Around Strength Log

Just joined this today so I guess I’ll transfer my log from another website.

My current goal is:
*9-10% bodyfat
*Gain more all around strength

Currents stats:
*16 y. old
*170 lbs.
*5’10
*36’ waistline

My main goal is to lose all the bodyfat I’ve accumulated over the years, and get a lot stronger in the process.

To start out I’ll post up my most recent workout:

Warmup: 1000m row, stretching

Workout:

*15 minute rowing intervals (2 min. slow row, 1 min. sprint)
*3x7 pulldowns (50 lbs.)
*10 dip negatives
*5 pullup negatives
*5x5 dumbbell thrusters (25,35,30,30,25)

Started my first day of IFing and so far it seems like this was a better choice. I got a little hungry in the morning, but it’s really helping me keep my calories in check. I’ve been a little tired but I’m sure it will go away soon enough.

My gym got a bunch of new equipment so today wasn’t quite as focused as it could be.

Warmup:500m of rowing, stretching.

Workout:
*7 minutes of running
*4x500m rowing intervals (2 normal, 2 sprints)
*3x5 Body row machine (42.5 lbs)
*3x5 Tricep Press (150 lbs)
*3x6 Assisted Dips
*2x5 Bicep Curls (50,80)

Supplementation:
*2 cups of green tea
*5 fish oil capsules
*2 multivitamins

Rest day today.

Second day of IFing was a total failure. Around 10am I started to get a tingly numb sensation, and got really dizzy. I then proceeded to eat some candy because it was given to me. I feel like I got that feeling because I didn’t eat enough last night. I’m gonna try eating more calories tonight, and if I get the same feeling tomorrow then I’m going to have to stop with the IFing. I think I got around like 1200 calories or so which is way too little. So I’ll update tomorrow if I am going to continute with IFing.

Day 3 was much more successful. My guess is that I hadn’t eaten enough calories, because I made sure to get enough last night and I didn’t get the tingly experience. I felt fairly energetic all throughout the day, and I’m starting to feel a little more positive about this.

Today’s workout was fairly strength based.

*3x5 dumbbell thrusters (25,25,30)
*5 minutes on treadmill
*3x5 tricep presses (110 lbs.)
*3x5 bicep curls (20 lbs. each arm)

Cooldown:
Stretching

Supplementation:
*5 fish oil capsules
*2 multivitamins
*2 cups of green tea

Day 4 was a success as well. Energy levels remained pretty high all day, and I was feeling pretty good as well. Ate a little more poorly than I would like to, but that is something I still need to work on.

I’m going to stay with the fasting until the end of the month, and I will post my results up once I reach 30 days. If I have seen progress then I will stick with it. My workouts are going really well. I’ve been doing low volume high intensity workouts, and I really feel it the next day.

For today’s workout I’ll be going really light as I’m still fairly tired from yesterday.

*Pushups
*10-15 minutes of shadowboxing

Today was day 5 of fasting. Friday and Saturday were days where i allowed myself to eat all day, with no fasting at all. Morale is still high. Will be hitting the gym tomorrow.

Day 6 went well. A little hungry today, but nothing too bad.

Gonna work cardio today, and strength tomorrow.

I’m at about 2 weeks of fasting, and honestly I have noticed no difference. I’m going to stop with the fasting for now, and go back to my old eating schedule. However this time, I’ll be cutting as many processed carbs out as I can.

Decided recently that I’m going to be doing a triathlon this summer. It’s on an island where my summer house is, so I’ll be participating when I go there. It consists of 1/2 mile swim, 12 mile bike ride, and a 4 mile run. My goal is to complete the entire thing without stopping, so I’ll be using my cardio days to train towards it.

Today’s workout:

Running:
*2 miles
*20:26

Biking:
*6.03 miles
*22:50

Goals:
*9-11% bodyfat
*4 miles running in 28 minutes, no stopping
*12 miles biking in 36 minutes, no stopping
