Sorry…but that individual needs to be fired, or docked pay or demoted
can’t show up on time has consequences

My mother had a motto that I heard at least twice a week for as long as I was at home.
“In time, on time, every time.
Except when ahead of time,
For me, that is better time.”
In normal times, I would agree with you.
But, that store has gone through so many employees that can’t do the job it is insane. (around 30 in 6 months)
I would be better off keeping her and hiring somebody else that can get there on time to let the late one just show up and make product.
The really fucked up thing is they are making $4 an hour more than any other employer near that store. I have hundreds of applications sitting there.
I understand, nobody wants to work anymore
100%.
And it is a super easy job, inside in the AC/ heat in a newly restored building. I provide insurance immediately upon hiring - no 90-day probationary period. And the company totes 100% of the insurance bill. I do everything feasible to treat the employees well in things that matter.
But didn’t you hear? You are a scumbag capitalist who doesn’t give a shit about people…
Get with the program and let your employees who cant show up on time own part the business. Sheesh!
As long as they buy in and split debt in proportion to their ownership - sure!
Ditto. It’s such a bad look. I’ve always thought of it like, If something is important you’ll make time, if it’s not you’ll make excuses. My livelihood is important!
The other side of it is HR fights to keep crappy employees. I’ll have someone who is habitually absent or late that hits the predetermined number to be let go, document everything perfectly and they ask me “is there something we can do to keep him? Perhaps they need more coaching.”
If you’re on time, you’re late. If you’re early, you’re on time.
Everybody is afraid of being sued - with good reason these days.
I actually get pissed when i am late for anything, ![]()
As the market is controlled by top firms such as Merck, Pfizer and Abbott. You seem to think that the number of businesses determines a oligopoly, when it is in fact the influence that a few corporations have on price.
Next.
Yes it does. It protects price structure for them and limits new less profitable treatments.
Rogan is an outlier.
Try reading some Chompsky and Edward S. Herman
Ahhhh… nobody wants to work for shit wages any longer.
And what do you consider shit wages?
More garbage from you. As if employee/owners would share less in the success of a business than employees only. Sheesh!
I don’t pay shit wages and it is still hard to find competent people that want to work at varying levels of pay too.
At this point, as soon as I can automate more - I will with fervor and glee. I will take a robot over a person ANY DAY - even if the robot is slightly more expensive. At least I know it will work and do its job.
It is not garbage. How many businesses do you own again?
If the post you have referred to is correct, then why did an ice cream parlor in Pittsburgh offer 15/hr. and get about 1,000 apps in a week?
OPEC has given the west the middle finger and have decided to produce 2MM barrels less a day. Prices of gas should be going back up. Yeah!!!
And what does this have to do with the attitudes of employee/owners?
Hmmmmm… the top 3 out of 5 pharma companies are in the U.S.
You forgot terror. Who invades more countries and routinely kills more people than the U.S.? Is it any wonder why most of the world hates us?
