Well, I’d add religion(if applicable), family(if applicable), and friends(if applicable). But I certainly agree. A separation of marriage and State.
fuckin’ lol … love it when this guy tells someone to “read some Chompsky” but spells his fuckin’ name wrong - It’s Chomsky you nitwit … Noam Chomsky … no ‘p’ in his name …
what a toolbag
Not really how you envision. They still have shareholders that aren’t employees and still are owned and run be a select few compared to the number of workers.
Only thing they have really done differently is pay scales.
This is like saying the last 3 remaining horse and buggy companies were an oligopoly. There is less competition now because media is dying and being replaced with something else.
You really aren’t getting it. Alternative sources for news prove media isn’t an oligopoly.
The US doesn’t even control the majority of pharmaceutical companies. 2 of the top 5 Pharm companies in the world are outside of the US. Your question is irrelevant to whether Pharm is an oligopoly.
*Got me defending the pharm industry, unbelievable.
I did a 4-second google search and provide a guide to starting a coop…
False
This has to be false.
Obviously, the US is the home base for all evil and capitalist greed. Everybody else is doing it right and better.
I mean, obviously, but don’t tell Zep that.
Economic death spiral in 3…2…1…
But we can just issue money to get out of this….

At least gas will stay cheap. Oh, wait…
Gas will continue to drop in price, albeit slowly, since Fossil is releasing another 2M+ barrels of oil from the SOR. A very short-sighted decision because that oil should only be used during a crisis, fueling military operations, etc.
Ironic, too, that it’s being released just weeks before the Midterms. Hmmm…coincidence? I think not. As soon as the midterms are over, watch them spike hard again. Inflation will continue to spiral out of control, the Fed will continue jacking interest rates to “cool” said inflation, our national deb will shatter records and the recession will go even deeper if a red wave does not happen.
Y’all sure have fed the troll a lot, huh?
He doesn’t even dispute your points, he just straw-mans himself out of being wrong to say “well look at this thing over here”.
Please fire me.
I will enjoy the catastrophic path of destruction left in my wake.
You are a paradox to @castoli. You harm the people you hire because your employees’ wages are too low. You cannot quit because of the harm you would cause your employees when they lost employment. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t.
Skilled labor is a comodity just like anything else!

This is a real issue.
Even paying people extremely well for menial jobs and still can barely get them to show up.
It is nuts.
Last week I did some work that I felt guilty even getting paid for.
The guy I do a bunch of stuff for bought an entire decked out set of shop cabinetry and tables/tool chests at like lowes or Home Depot. Like, the nice ones. Fully decked out the garage-shop.
So a few weeks ago he wants to rearrange some shelves, and add a few more.
Shouldn’t be a problem. But it is.
There are 4 little set in clips that hold the shelving in place, and those clips are now unobtanium. Can’t buy them because they dont exist. Not even any plans to produce more in the forseable future.
So we designed and built our own.
Simple little things that are punched out of sheet and stamped into shape by the number/minute. Nowhere to be found.
We can’t keep people either. Not only paying well for unskilled labor, but BABYING the hell out of the employees to no end. The stuff we allow now just to keep people would have never flown when I was part of production. I think reality it going to hit people hard in the next year and they’ll be forced to change their attitude about work
I don’t think they’re mature or humble enough to do this though … a lot of people seem incapable of self reflection and will probably end up blaming some external force oppressing them
True, but if and when this financial fantasy world we live in crumbles and we have a 08 style crash, people are going to face reality whether they like it or not.
I tell the lazy guys at work all the time, when the robots take your job, you’ll deserve it.
One of my stores has been having an issue with an employee that opens the store. The employee is habitually 20 minutes late. (Store opens at 10AM so not like it is early).
The other side of it is - she works hard when she is there and is great at her job. She is just terrible at being on time - which is a massive issue. The employee is young and still a kid in my eyes. I have talked to them a couple times personally about this, but it still continues.
I don’t get this younger generation - at all. I know. I sound like an old curmudgeon, but no matter the job I was HORRIFIED of being late to it or anything that I have taken on to be somewhere at a certain time.
I still don’t think they will face reality - a lot of them.
