Eating Herring?

Anyone here eat herring in wine marinade that comes in jars with raw onions (usually)?  This stuff is so good I could eat it at all times during the day, but for some reason I'm thinking it may not be too good for you...just checked the ingredients, 20% sodium.  I'm a skinny guy needing to put on some serious weight so I'm tempted to start eating large servings of this with some of my meals during the day but... 

If anyone here eats this give me some info it would be greatly appreciated. Says “No Preservatives” on the jar as well

Oh man, both my husband and I love that stuff on the multi grain Wheat Thins… however, I do prefer the sort that’s in cream sauce, or put sour cream on top of the ones in wine sauce.

I like the onions alone too. Pickled onions are yummy.

so instead of eating say 200 grams of say grilled tilapia, would I just be able to eat the equivalent of that in herring?

OK, go to nutritiondata and compare 22 grams of tilapia to 200 grams of pickled herring. You can do it. :slight_smile:
