Eating Chocolates With No Guilt!

I understand where this guy is coming from. Not everyone cares about hardcore diets, carb loading, bodybuilding contests or getting a very low bf. Some people just want to lift heavy ass weight and have a drink afterwards with their lifting buddies. It’s understandable. I don’t think it makes him any less of a human being.

Why the OP had to post this here on a bodybuilding forum though, is beyond me. He is preaching this to the wrong crowd.

This is the most rediculous thread I’ve ever read. First this wise, aged, and veteran bodybuilding (17 years old?) is talking about how companies have corrupted the bodybuilding industry far too much. Hey, I have an idea, put down your issue of Flex, and spend a LONG TIME learning how your body responds to certain diets and training philosophies. Stop doing what other people tell you to do, that’s the real issue.

There’s no way you’ve even been bodybuilding long enough to reap the full-scale benefits, and you’re much too young. Hell, I’m only twenty, and I have all sorts of friends commenting on my physique and talking about how much of a difference there is. Trust me, being in shape, relatively healthy, and catching the eye of people everywhere is a great feeling. If you don’t feel like excelling, that’s your problem.

Maybe instead of bitching about these things on a BODYBUILDING forum you should go and apply for a job at a 7/11 or something. At least then you can watch life pass you by, and think about spectacular people doing spectacular things as you settle for a life filled with false ideals and mediocrity.

GTFO seriously, if you don’t want to put in the effort don’t expect anything. And stop worrying about what other people do during their workout.

Typical comments really. But my advice is this. If your a beginner, do basics first for many YEARS, not months. 6%bf at 150LBs is not good. No matter what anyone on these sites say. Don’t do bodybuilding drugs… at least wait until you are close to natural genetic potential. 1 year is not a long time.Ephedrine is dumb. Don’t waste money on countless supplements. Stick with your job. Don’t let bodybuilding take over your life. Dont diet as if going for a competition if you are not… a gaunt face is not awesome and no one thinks mega low fat is cool. they think its obsessive. (yes i’ve done it three times before anyone asks, and no it wasn’t worth it). Get off your mobile in the gym. New Nikes aren’t gonna make you look better. Nor is hair gel. Its a gym not a fashion parade. Use chalk. Deadlift in a trap bar if possible.

But most of all, and this is from personnal experience. Dont get hung up on all the info out here. Get off the internet trying to find a magic bullet. You’ll just get over confused. Also don’t let bodybuilding take over your life. You WILL regret it eventually. This point is aimed at certain people who know who they are. Not people able to balance life.

OP You are right, an obsessive bodybuilding life style is not healthy if you are not enjoying it. However you could raise this point to anything, playing video games, drinking with friends, chasing after women. If you do any activity for a long period of time, eventually you will get bored with it. Good times don’t last forever.

Once you reach a goal things lose their fun, but without goals we are not truly living. Do you want to look back on your life and say ‘I really wish I would have tried’ or on the other hand ‘I really wish I would have enjoyed myself a bit more.’

At the end of the day, you have to do what makes you happy, but if you put so much time into anything then just drop out I don’t think you personally know what will make you happy. You sound like a guy who is hitting middle age and pondering what life is really about.

My advice would stop thinking so hard about what will make you happy, the moment you start questioning it you are not truly happy. Take a break from lifting so you can reflect on what you enjoyed about it. But don’t stop, keep lifting and eating clean, cheat meals and beers are fine. But keep everything in balance.

‘Live life’.

I don’t give a f*ck if bodybuilding is healthy.

I don’t give a f*ck to listen to your bitching and whining.

If you don’t like it or your depressing life sucks with your boy-band gyms then go someplace else and cry about it. I don’t even want to see a post that causes me to be so vexed at your immature bitching and whining.

A true athlete plays the sport he is in because of the love of the sport. Many athletes live shorter lives than your average person because athletics in general is hard on your body. They do not do it for the money or other personal goals but for the love of the sport.

I LOVE bodybuilding! I LOVE to lift heavy fcking weights! I don’t care about the money/fame/health risks. I LOVE WHAT I DO. If your experience with it or your life sux I truly am sorry for you, however, you coming on a bodybuilding site, and a bodybuilding forum no less, to bitch and complain is just pointless. As Swole and dizzle said "GET THE FCK OUT!"

I’m a mild mannered poster but you sir have managed to piss me off.

The technical term is “doing a long term cycle of non-injectable protein”.

Because for whatever reason, these retards think protein is a steroid.

Dirty Gerdy. Yeah your physique is good. nicely lean. But are you that lean permanently?? And you dont look like you lift that heavy?!? Anyway you may not like my advice at the moment.

But what about when you wake up and find out that your training doesn’t REALLY accomplish anything. I’m glad you enjoy the sport in its current state. But give it time when you have a family, resposibilities etc. You will realise that NO ON cares if you ar 6% bf!

And being more normal is not mediocre!! How is enjoying conversation, a couple of drinks and good food mediocre. Do you know what is strange though. Someone that abandons this for staying in with your protien, flax seed, fish oil combo. For no reason. And then gets obsessive and cant stop.

Babes care. And when he has a family, I’m sure his wife will appreciate it.

Who told you to abandon a social life? Just don’t go out and get shit-face every other day. I drink maybe once a week at best. You sound like someone who tanked when trying the V-Diet. Take your bitterness (which should be directed at your feeble willpower) somewhere else.

Dood I just wrote out a long post explaining how I disagree with you but then decided to just stick with the stfu gtfo.

last max lifts 7 months ago:
bench: 305
squat: 505
deadlift: 585

If you choose to “enjoy your life” and not stress on diets and training then by all means do so. Nobody said its an all or nothing thing when it comes to training. You will just not be considered a bodybuilder.

I chose bodybuilding to be my obsession. I know all about responsibilities, try taking 15 units with a 40 hr workweek and train. I don’t give a shit less about what others think of my 6% bodyfat because I CARE about my 6% bodyfat.

So in short, just because you choose not to be a bodybuilder it doesn’t give you the right to bash others who choose to do so.

I’m not going to stay in this pissing match with you, but quite frankly, just leave. What is your point in being here besides to argue?

Gerdy

I find it ironic that this is in the GET A LIFE forum…maybe a hidden message for the OP?? :stuck_out_tongue:

FTW.

You know what it’s motherfuckers like you that give me the motivation to someday hit the pro stage.

Thanks

Gerdy

I don’t see how other people in the gym can bug you. You’re talking about these guys with spiked hair checking out their guns and doing stupid amounts of curls. Who gives a fuck?

Seriously I’ve seen these guys before, they do their curls, I do my stuff. If I need to use equipment they’re using, I ask to use it. So whats the big deal?

If people come to a commercial gym to do just cardio and press 1 lb dumb bells, how does this affect you? They aren’t holding you back from doing your thing.

If you bothered to read any of my posts, last year i dieted solid for around 20 weeks (Not 1 cheat meal at all). Got to 5% bf. Year before 8%.

Oh i had the will power alright. I know exactly what it takes. Thats why i now realise no one REALLY cares but you at the time. They forget after a few minutes. It really is not worth being as obsessive as i have been over the past 15 years. It really leads to nothing long term. Unless its your proffesion.

C’mon guys I just want you to realise this before its to late. Its hard to admit when you see yourself being described. It was for me. Loads of people eventually realise this i’d say 95% of anyone bodybuilding seriously. They just don’t hang around to tell you. Just look at turnover of posters on this site. geez i remember when this site was almost new…androsol, md6. where are all the forum posters gone now from then???

Yeah, these people look fucking weak.

They left because idiots like you showed up in massive numbers. Why have you dieted down to 5% body fat? Were you competing? How much muscle are you carrying? How much did you weigh at 5% body fat?

You sound like a legit dumbass who went off the deep end and lost all balance in his life. You are now swung in the opposite direction and trying to get others to pat you on the back for it. In other words, you sound pretty damn pathetic.
