I tried the bulk thing and i couldnt eat enough with a clean diet, so i decided to stay where i am now. I hated the amount i was eating and it made me feel like shit also. I always was full, i am much better just maintaining now.
If your really up for bulking, you have to eat more than you think. I hope that your very, very hungry lol
If your avoidance of manfood as indicated in the other thread is how you define clean then this no surprise. If clean is defined as unprocessed non junk/fast food I have no problem at all eating well over 5000 calories a day and could probably double that if I had a reason to try.

well i realize that the simple answer is if your not gaining weight your not eating enough but by upping my cals up about 1000 I was hoping something would happen, also its 3400 ive dont the math a million times. Also i am eating preety much 100% clean so maybe I shouldnt do that. ALso there is no way my rents would buy that much food for me
Funny thing about not eating enough is that it usually is pretty easy to eat enough. There really isn’t very much of a ceiling (within reason) that should stop you from gaining weight if you put your mind to it.
Take a shot glass and do a shot of olive oil every few meals (or every meal). Drink an extra cup of whole milk each meal.
Little things, spread out over all your meals, can tack on more calories than you would think.
I know, I know, a shot of olive oil every meal sounds like crazy talk*, but at this point (if I were you) I wouldn’t spend too much time worrying about whether or not you are eating “clean”. Hell, I wouldn’t really worry about anything beyond the whole “am I gaining weight, yet?” problem.
Putting on quality mass (especially as a beginner) is more about getting in calories than any sort of macronutrient breakdown. As long as you are getting the kcals in (to an extent), things will most likely take care of themselves. At 200g, you are already getting in enough protein (for your weight) - so, for now, focus in on stomaching more calories any way you can.
*it is crazy talk if you don’t build up to it over a week or two - gave me the shits first time I tried it…but it worked.
If you are still stumped, go ask the guys over at Fantasy Feeder, or something.
I just didnt like the amount i was eating every few hours and i dont do any type of shakes either. I like solid foods but dont like to eat alot of fattier foods like nuts etc. Those help because they are calorie dense. I also dont do much milk or beef either.
Now maybe it is clearer why it was hard for me with not using shakes, calorie dense foods, very little milk, no beef and basically no supps either. I use 1/2 scoop whey upon waking they start my workout.
I would have no prob eating 5000 cals a day if i really wanted to get big but i prefer to eat the foods i like and stay where i am at now. It wasnt worth it to me at the time i guess.
I must say, that eating a lot of food sucks. You’re constantly feeding, spending insane amounts at the grocery store, etc.
not everyone makes it a priority to put on a lot of weight. I don’t like the whole mentality either that if you’re not huge, you suck. It comes down to one’s personal goals, as well as their financial situation.

You seem to be a good natured enough chap who knows what he wants, as tough as it may be for me to understand, but fine.
I totally understand where your coming from, im still young at 23 so i have a very fast metabolism. 6’ 165 lbs
As far as the more calorie dense foods, i think i ate too much of them when i was younger and it kinda burned me out. I eat them just not real often.
As far as the supps go, i often wanted to try more of them but didnt want to get dependent on them and lose what i may gain, if i were to stop taking them.

yea i understand but at 150 I would like to get up to at least 180 in the next year
You are eating like you are 150 lbs, you need to eat like you are 180 lbs to BE 180 lbs.
EUREKA!!! There it is!!! The secret is out. If you train like you REALLY want to gain 30 good pounds in the next year and eat like you’re already there you may be shocked to find that you don’t gain that much fat in the process either. If only more people understood how much fuel it takes to actually build a body.
force feeding. Eat till it comes up in the back of your mouth then eat a little bit more. When i was 135 pounds in high school i would eat a loaf of bread a day and whole milk with every meal. This was on top of 5-6 times a day.
