Easy Way to Get in Calories?

Ever since I’ve been on this keto diet I’ve had no cravings for crap, and I’m even finding it difficult getting in over 2000 calories every day via clean foods, which I need to do.

So I was wondering if anyone here knew good ways to get easy calories down, good calories. Especially from protein. Is it okay to swallow plain olive oil, or coconut oil?

the search button is your friend

Yes, its ok to swallow oils. Well, I do it =). As for calories, looks for fattier cuts of meat and eggs help alot.

dont take coconut oil.

Do you mean don’t use coconut oil at all or don’t eat it raw?

Eat nuts, lots of 'em.

4 cups whole milk
2 Yogurts
2 scoops flax meal
4 whole eggs
2 tbl spoons olive oil
2 cups of oatmeal
2 scoops of whey protein
Blend and drink
Thats 2500 calories right there

Eat a god damn burger!

gotta keep the carbs down though, on a keto diet.

I’ve never had raw eggs, is the whole salmonella thing really as rare as people say?

Naw, Don’t worry about salmonella. I have been consuming raw eggs for over 10 yrs with no problem. The odds are very very slim. Sorry, I did not realize you needed low carbs. I guess you could leave the oatmeal out and switch to skim milk. I’m not too familiar with the Keto diet sorry

Well very low-carb, under 30g a day. I’ve been in ketosis most of the time. I’m following Thib’s Refined Physique suggestions in terms of diet and workout routine.

AzCats, thanks a bunch man.

coconut oil is generally not recommended since a large part of it is metabolized for energy at the expense of burning stored fats and long chain fatty acids.

8 oz strip steak is 500 calories, 4 of those is 2 lbs a day and 2000 calories with 200 grams or protein.

8 oz filet of salmon is 415 calories, replace 3 of the steaks with fish, put a fatty gravy or sauce on it and it’s 2000 calories with 185grams of protein.

a handful of peanuts is nearly 853(almost a cup, a cup is smaller than you think) calories, less protein but will give you different types of oil based vitamins. If you have a little more money mixed nuts will be better for you. Still find the calories.

cook or dress your meats with mayo,
if you like peanut butter eat some of your veggies with it.

sunflower seeds.
lamb

Hot dogs are tons of calories. (sodium not all that good though)

lettuce wraps with lightly fried teryaki chicken or beef.(the fry should add calories)

I used to put Peanut Butter or Honey in everything I ate/drank. Both very calorically dense. You can also get in the habit of putting cheese on most foods.

How is this bad for someone who’s trying to consume extra calories?

The same thing can be said for carbs and excess protein.

The OP mentioned he is on a keto diet. The premise of a keto plan is to teach the body to use stored fat as fuel. the MCT’s in coconut oil get metabolized first which hinders adaptation to fat (long-chain) as an energy source.
Coconut oil is helpful on effective on plans that seek to maintain a carb based energy system, since it is less likely to be stored as fat.

I think it’s likely that the OP is “fat adapted” if he’s not craving carbs and is functioning well, so I still don’t see the problem with him consuming coconut oil.
