Earth in True Perspective

Amazing.

thank you, that’s awesome

If you like that, you’ll probably like this:

Right at the end they show you the distance from the Hubble telescope to the area in that image compared to the whole universe.

Pretty cool!!!

thats all bullshit that the scientific community wants you to believe in order to discredit religion.

(giggle)

This is worth the read for those that have the time.

Such a cool perspective. I made a mistake and starting reading comments by uneducated idiots.

Randomly delving into reading about various points within the Fermi Paradox is a huge hobby of mine. I will legit just out of nowhere be like ‘ok, time to read about the role Jupiter and Saturn play in Earth being a viable planet for life.’ And it’s awesome every time.

Oh by the way, people should totally go read about the role Jupiter(and to a lesser extent Saturn) plays in Earth’s viability as a habitable planet. It’s not a set in stone thing yet(still some debate, some things we can’t be sure of but have tried our best to model, that type of deal), but fascinating none the less.

i love shit like this

I think I spent about an hour staring at the screen the first time I looked at it. It kind of blew my mind.

And the music is soothing too lol

This is gold. About halfway through now. Yeah, my day’s shot.

Been going through this blog: http://waitbutwhy.com/ . It is phenomenal. This guy can explain very complicated issues in a clear, concise and entertaining manner. It is definitely one of the best blogs I’ve ever read and I am only 3 or 4 articles deep. Without question, worth checking out.

This is why I love T Nation so much.

Any other site and every second comment would be “Doesn’t it make you feel insignificant?”

As one T Nation member said in a thread like this before after someone said that about a link to an article about space: Yeah…life’s just not worth living what with stars being all big and shit.

Thanks guys. That’s the best blog I’ve ever come across. I hope they are able to make some money out of it.

that opening ‘zoom-away-from-Earth’ scene from Contact is also fantastic
