Anyone here have any experience with them?
I got attacked by one once while walking deep in the woods in the Catskill Mountains.
It was terrifying.

You got attacked by an electronic cigarette?
I tried a couple of an older type about 2 years ago. From what I understand they have come a long way since.

I just got a kit yesterday. It seems like a standardized kit branded with who evers label.
Anyways, it works really good so far. It didn’t come with any instructions other than how to activate the battery so I had to screw with it a bit to fill it up with the liquid. Figured it out easily enough though.
There does seem to be some features that I haven’t gotten a handle on though, like why the light turns blue sometimes and other times it doesn’t.

It’s a game changer for me. havent touched a real cig since i got it and i actually prefer it as no harsh burning feeling, no smell and no interfering with my life anymore.

Depending on the model if the light turns blue it means the battery is running low. Always let the battery run to near dead before you charge it.
They banned them here, as “they are just as bad as real cigarettes.” Unfortunately, the spokes-hole who made this claim does not realize you exhale water vapor with e-cigs.
Obviously the jury’s out on long-term safety but pretty good pic alongside this article:

they didnt ban them, just banned them from public places much like cigs. And it had nothing to do with the safety, Tobacco lobbyists are not happy about the growth and want to discourage them.

Fairly confident that smoking them is not good for you. It comes down to which vice is more intrusive on lifestyle for me. So i made the switch from analog to digital.

My wife is very happy about it too. She doesn’t smoke, and initially didn’t mind that I did, but after having our son she has really ramped up on it. I really didn’t like cigarettes anymore either, but so far nicotine trumps pretty much every other drug I’ve done as far as breaking the habit and staying off of it. Not having to go into the garage to smoke is a big bonus.
Probably over the next few days I’ll be able to tell if there is any immediate benefit to switching. I had been smoking for a long time with a couple of breaks in between and was really starting to notice the longer term effects of smoking.
The ultimate test will be in a few moments. If I can have a coffee without grabbing a smoke, that would be a miracle. Breaking or changing habits connected to habits is a subtle but huge factor for me.

Don’t be surprised if you develope a cough that lasts a week or so. It’s not from the e cig but from quitting smoking. Also be careful with some of the e juice flavors, your sense of smell and taste will start improving and some of the fruity flavors might not be the same. I stick to a mint or menthol flavor with a hit of blueberry mixed in
I just quit smoking over a month ago, and they were a life saver.
I had tried to quit a few times, but could never get passed the initial couple weeks. I decided to stop buying packs, and just pick up an ecig. The first week was difficult, but I could curb the cravings by taking a couple puffs off the ecig. After that I just tapered off, and stopped completely a couple weeks in. I never had the horrible withdrawal symptoms I experience when trying to quit before. To be honest, I still have moments when I crave a puff but it’s now easy to say no.
Now if you just want something to puff on. I compare it to like a hookah. its smooth and doesn’t irritate the throat. The problem is because of that you can ingest a lot of nicotine without really thinking about it. So keep that in mind, it can create a strong nicotine dependence. I know people who go through 2 recharges a day which is about 4 packs of cigs. Ya they don’t have all the other problems associated with cigs, but they are extremely addicted to nicotine.
I need to get an e cig…but I wanted to share this info for anyone attempting to quit/transition…good read, eye opening stuff
I smoked a pack a day from 13-33. The second day of this year I got one from a friend of mine who had been smoking even longer. Not only did I never light another cigarette, my wife quit as well. My recommendation is to go to a E-cig store and get a nice one. My buddy sold me a large digital unit made by Sigelei which is nice but very large and not as convenient so just slide in the front pocket. I have purchased smaller units made by EVOD which slip right in the pocket.
The larger ones are obviously better for many of reasons including better battery life and variable voltage, but again lack the smaller size and are more expensive. Of course many will say these have to be bad as well since it is still nicotine BUT from what I gather only 4 main ingredients and no carcinogens. My personal experience has been great. Having smoked for that long including during a 4 year tour in the Marines (lots of running) I wasn’t sure I would ever quit yet for years said I wanted to. Well I did quit cigarettes and these are next on the chopping block. Here is a link to maybe show some insight to rumors. http://casaa.org/uploads/8_Biggest_Electronic_Cigarette_Myths.pdf
Both Cigs, and E cigs contain formeldehyde which acts as an excito toxin and promotes neuron death, I do not know why anyone would want to purposely bring anything into their system like that. This can lead to very severe and chronic illness for those that are more sensitive as well.
