Colin, you’re funny as hell Bro! I appreciate your remarks. I wish we could train together just once. Kill them weights to some of that Disturbed you’re always training to. I’ve got The Sickness on my MP3.

Hey DZ…Good to hear that others are enjoying the real “Motivation Music” like Disturbed…What else do you listen to?

last posts of your training showing nice improvement in some areas and consistency in others…keep up the good work!

I killed my last MP3 doing the one arm bucket farmers. I got a new one and currently have on it, Drowning Pool, Disturbed, Korn, Mudvayne, Slipknot, OTEP, Static X, and Soulfly.

Thanks QT, I’m hitting my goals with each workout. As the weights get heavier, I’ve had some anxiety about the reps, I’m going for, but so far so good.

Made it back from KC on Saturday. Found a small gym in the little town we were staying in and got in a couple workouts while I was away. Good workouts, one was ME squats, and the other was bench and squat assistance work.

Some GPP today

1 1/2 mile run
4 sets of cinder block farmer carries

About half of the 15 inches of snow from last Friday is still lingering around, so it was a pretty good workout, but I’m looking forward to getting my tire back out for GPP.

Looking as strong as ever DZ. You must be getting stoked with your meet coming up fast. I’m sure all that snow will pay off big time for you. Keep it strong and work it hard you’re going to do great.

Thanks streamline. Yep it’s getting pretty close, I’ve got a few more weeks to get myself ready.

Didn’t hit my goals on those deads. Wanted to get 3x3@335, overall though, it went well.I had to wait for the DL platform and cooled off quite a bit. I was watchin’ the guys ahead of me , and they were bouncing the weights off of the floor with each rep. My reps were basically singles, pull it, set it down, then pull it again and set it down.
After this I went out to the farm and worked on the wood pile for an hour and a half. It’s that time of year.

Dave,
Remember, the meet must be fun! Keep doing the DL’s the way you do them, without the bounce! You will get more out of them & your form will be better. You get a truer indication of your strength & what you will be capable of in a contest. DLing your way for a double/triple is much different than with a bounce. If you base your starting attempts/openers on the bounced sets, you may find by contest time, after squatting and BPing, that your strength is not there like it was during the workout, so use your method of lifting and base your openers and goals for the meet on that.

Another thing…no offense intended…if you’ve never squatted with three judges, make sure you break parallel in your training…it will be very nerve-wracking to squat and get red’s for depth. So in the next couple of workouts, have someone who you trust to be honest tell you how your depth is. You don’t want them blowing smoke up your ass, you just want them to be honest - the crease at the hip joint must be below the top of the knee. Of course, if your ass is almost hitting the floor, than you can assume you are below parallel & don’t need anyone to watch you.
What PLing organization is sanctioning the meet? Best of Luck!

I appreciate you input QT. There used to be mirrors in front of the squat rack so I knew if I was getting low enough, but not anymore. I’ll take your advice and get someone to tell me if I’m low enough next week. The meet is sanctioned by ADFPF. They’ve moved the location from Lansing Michigan, to a church in a small town called 6 Lakes.

Looks good bro! Keep hammering away.

I got my tire proped up after my run today after being snowed in all Winter. It’s full of water. and it’s still too muddy to flip in the yard, but we’re close.

You mean you can see the ground already! We’ve got at least another month…

Here’s an idea: next winter flip the tire full of ice. A good progression would be adding an inch of ice every week. ;-}

Thats the good ache. The kind that tells you -That was some training.Shocks the heck out of your nervous system.Your right on track bro.Keep up the good work.
