Dude, You are Swole

13 year old kid says to me: “Man, you look like you swallowed a grenade”

The following was not said to me, but to a friend who weighs 240 pounds, has a shaven head, goatee and at least 19 inch arms:

“You work out, you must have a stopwatch.”

Yeah, I’ve heard the same. Apparently ANYTHING used to help build muscle is deadly…even if they know it isn’t.

I had one coworker tell me the half gallon of water I drink through out the day (over 8 hours) is unhealthy.
Haven’t you heard? You need diet water know.
I would’ve laughed, but I didn’t, because the grocery store near my home actually has diet water.

The ‘regular’ water is flavoured with 120kcal of sugar per 250mL.

Hey, he might’ve been meaning it relatively.

LOL

i used to run into girls who would say, “oh, i don’t like guys with big muscles…” and that was usually followed up by them saying, “can you flex for me?” i think some girls think people will think bad of them for liking guys that are built or in shape so they don’t want to admit that they like it…

Shoulda used NO xplode.

Girl last night at work grabbed my arm and then gave me a thumbs up. Worse things have happened though.

I beat a friend in a game 1 on 1 in basketball and later, when the other friends were teasing him about that, he said : I didn’t have a chance, he’s on proteins !

Ironically, two years before that, when I was a skinny fat 140 lbs and training Kempo, I saw this guy from jiu jitsu drinking a whey shake after training and heard him say he has to save on it because he’s low on income. Later on, I was telling a friend how this guy we train with uses protein and that he’s not man enough to train without it :).

Ignorance makes people say really dumb things.

a kid once told me that if he were to start training (or as he said, “working out”), he wouldnt’ drink protein shakes or use creatine because he’d rather make the accomplishments all on his own.

I didn’t dignify it with a response.

I love it when chicks with more than 30% body fat tell me that I have “huge” arms! Hahahaha… you mean because I have a SLIGHTLY rounded shoulder and you can see some tricep definition that means my arms are HUGE? Riiiiight…

(that’s the same reason they don’t want to lift… they don’t want to get “too bulky.” Ummm… too late!)

OK… one more rant:

I love how they can give unsolicited comments about how THEY THINK my body looks… but if I were to comment on what I thought of their body, I would be considered rude…

a kid (douche-bag) gave me all his protein because he said he wanted to be a ‘natty’

This thread is very entertaining, I guess I can add to it.
Usually I just get “Why do you work out so much, you’re already in shape”
or…from most females : “Your muscles are manly” or " Are you trying to look like a man"

If I wanted to be a man I would get a gender reassignment surgery and change my name to Bill.
I’m pretty sure that I was born with this body, and these muscles, so how is building my physique to its potential ‘manly’???

P.S. NO XPLODE IS THE SHIT OMGZZZ HARDXCOREEEE MAN

I love this one, I had a kid two years younger than me trade me 10lbs of protein for 2 lbs of creatine : ) He didn’t even work out, he took it before and after his Muay Thai classes. Who am I to correct him?

BINGO! I hate that double standard. If a fat guy accuses you of being on steroids or “Living at the Gym”, it’s ok.

But if you even call him “overweight”…not even obese… you’re an asshole.

a girl in my high school senior year told me she didn’t like people like me “who took steroids” because it made peoples arms too big (she proceded to point at my arms and make a popeye joke)…my arms are a flexed 14 inches…

then she explained how swimmers have perfect bodies because they don’t take drugs…strange

Girl today…

Her: “Some girls don’t like guys with big muscles”

Me: “Well that’s fine, 'cause somebody has to love the fat chicks”

There’s that and then there’s also when people touch your arms or shoulders and make the “do you work out comment” I don’t grab a woman’s tits and say “are these implants?”

You should loan her Bigger Stronger Faster

HS friend - “Dude, you got swole, how did you get swole?”
Me - “Stop it man, I’m not swole haha”
Random girl - “You look pretty swole to me”

What the hell do you say in situations like this? It’s too flattering.

Sometimes an old friend or someone I knew will say “wow you got big” or “you look like you gained some muscles/weight.” Do you just say “haha thanks yea I’ve been lifting some” or what?
