I just got home and turned on the TV and Access Hollywood was on (damn girlfriend) and they were showing this clip lol.

Dude isnt in a coma and isnt dead. He broke a bunch of bones apparently but is going to be A OK
you’re wrong. he IS in a coma - might be paralyzed if/when he wakes up.

absolutely not funny.
you’re wrong. Access Hollywood said so. lol

according to the networks spokesman Samuel Koch is suffering from a broken neck and is in stable condition… nothing about a coma

even though you’re american, you should be able to grasp the meaning:

// so yea, you’re wrong
I’m an American, and all I got from that was that there was a press conference, something of the word “stuntman” and then “Justin Beiber”
Koma much?
Koma Sutra???
Kona Sutra, coffee sex!

You guys laughing about it should be ashamed of yourselves. He is an hero for trying this stunt and taking it all away.

Hero? I did some pretty dumb things as a kid none of which made me a hero. If he’d made it, he wouldn’t be a hero, and he isn’t a hero for the simple fact that he didn’t make it.

I missed the pogo stick shoes until the link. I feel bad for the guy, and I could see a whole lot of people willing to give it a try.
Trying to time the jump in front of a moving object AND nail the flip rotation with powerbockers on is just plain dumb.

God so many of you are retarded.

no funny, no entertaining, but no compassion from me for idiotic stunts going wrong
This is why people do this shit and a LOT of people are entertained by it.
this was NOT a jackass type stunt. it was a stunt.
The mentality BG everyone wants their 15 seconds of fame, nobody wants to actually fucking work the grind of adulthood. They can do some stupid shit like this make the $ get the snatch and ride off into the sunset.

Es war ein groBe unfall =(

When I see stuff like this, or jumping out of a plane, or climbing up a building with no support harness I always marvel at the stupidity and lack of respect that these people have for their own lives. With that said I still wouldn’t laugh at anyone like this, anymore than I’d laugh at the retarded boy who lives next door. They’re both lacking in terms of intelligence, and most importantly wisdom.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Guy’s from my beloved and glorious country of Germany.
There’s nothing funny about it: he’s still in a coma (which was artificially induced for protective measures).

He test-performed his stunt thrice two days prior to the live-performance, and twice he nearly stumbled when landing. So, yes, there was a chance it wouldn’t go as smooth as he had hoped. It was his risk to take. This doesn’t translate to 'Haha, that douche. Serves him right. Lolz.", though.

Gregron, you’re a bad man.
You will burn in hell.
You will lose your dick, too: I’ll grab a few of my Nazi friends and will come over and castrate you.
J/k, dude. You still suck, though.

Not sure if I’m getting you right, but maybe you’d like to read up on the premise of the show the guy performed in: Wetten, dass..? - Wikipedia
Guy’s an accomplished gymnast, so he had already paid his dues and way merely honing his craft. Wasn’t as good/well prepared, obviously.

^^ Hahahaha <3

He is an hero.

On a related note, Kurt Cobain is an guitar hero.

Oh shit.

I guess I don’t get the laughing and ‘he’s an idiot!’ comments. I don’t feel particularly sad for him - he knew the risks, after all. I do feel bad for his family, particularly his father.

Those of who talk about people who do risky things as being idiots, I don’t understand you. Do you not have a compulsion in you anywhere to push yourself to the limit and do something outside of the comfort zone? Find out what you’re made of? Take your fear and tell it to suck your dick?

I’ve walked (shimmied, technically) across a 4 -6 inch ledge without harness/safety ropes on a mountain over a 1000+ foot sheer drop. I knew any little mistake meant I’d die. If I had died, would that have made me an idiot? Maybe in your eyes - but then again, you’ve never experienced the part of you that comes alive when attempting, and ultimately succeeding in, these types of things. It’s simply something you’ve never experienced, and cannot understand. Thus you call people idiots when we, having experienced the next level, simply you at you with pity knowing what you’re missing.

I’d rather try something ‘stupid’ and accept the risk of death and fail then live between the safety ropes of life in hopes of avoiding an untimely death.

Well, I guess he shouldn’t have been trying to jump over a car then, should he?
Took the words out of my mouth.
This is just a silly thing to do. Risking your life like this makes risking your life lose its cool factor. Risk your life for love, honor or country, but not so that later your buddies say “WOo hoooooo!!!” a lot.

it’s the internet. people will laugh at stuff that if they were there in the audience wouldn’t normally laugh at.get over it

I officially endorse this post. Some people (I am one of them) ENJOY the thought of putting themselves in danger while performing activities. It makes the success of whatever you are doing infinitely greater.

When was the last time you derived an immense amount of personal satisfaction from merely watching at a bullrider doing his thing? Imagine trying to attempt that feat despite the numerous risks that will inevitably pop up. You could get stomped by the bull, you could get gored by the bull, you could take a bad fall and break your back (happened to me, kinda), get your hand caught in the rope and get dragged, sit on the bull in the chute but have him freak out and get your leg caught between the bull and the fence and break it. Truly countless things could go wrong. BUT the fact that you understand those risks and willingly participate in the event make it that much sweeter. The personal reward for overcoming that fear is empowering! It absolutely makes it worth every second of worrying that you may do about the outcome

I’ve done stupid shit too, last week I took my car to the limit of my driving skill. I followed MUCH better drivers out of an offramp loop at 70+ mph then hit a bump at the bottom and nearly lost the rear end. Would I have died, probably not. My skull fractured and spine fucked up from the inch of my head that protrudes over my roll bar if the car rolled? You fucking bet.

I totally agree about living life and not worrying about death but I do this stuff because I love driving and the feeling of taking myself to the edge, for ME. Not for some stupid fucking crowd or game show.

quick edit: And I agree tommy, watching people do it does nothing for me. Hopefully before the year is out I’ll have gone bullriding. Maybe not something with some giant horns that is notorious for fucking people up, but something.
