I’m sure I’m not the first person to ever do something like this, but if you want a quick HIT style bazooka blast for your abs (shit, that even sounded like Dr. Darden) try this. I did it yesterday.
A coupla few easy sets of anything to get your abs tuned up for some serious work.
I took 2 25 pound plates and my ab bench on the steepest decline.
Held both plates against my chest under my chin and did 8 strict reps until I was stuck at the bottom, dumped one of the plates and got 3 more, failed at the bottom of the 4th. Dump the other plate and get a few more. Then pull yourself by the bottom of your thighs until you are unable to control the eccentric movement.
Scoff if you must, but today my abs are hurtin from my pubic bone to my ribcage.
It takes 2 minutes and may just be a good change of pace for some guys.
On a wider note stuff like this is where HIT techniques are still useful in my mind. Not all the time, but as a change up this kinda thing is a great tool.
