Drinking on Training Days?

Arnold drank a beer and ate a burger every day.

a couple guys i train with drank a bottle of scotch the night before, and one of them came in and hit a new PR. i have found that i gain more weight, WITHOUT all those cals in beer

I have heard that drinking prevents muscle growth, so if someone were to workout and drink that night, their workout that day will have been a waste? Thoughts?

smoke pot instead of drinking. cheaper AND healthier

I save beer for Saturdays but have a glass of whiskey or bourbon on Tuesdays or Thursdays, probably 2 or 3 oz in each glass. Feels manly.

Else don’t drink on Thursday.
Else don’t drink.

Find the balance, since this is an individual thing.

Are you a programmer?

On average I drink once a week. I am officially a light weight. There used to be days when I could drink all night without any problems (4 days a week). These days, a few glasses here and there and I start acting like a fart. I like going out and its something all my mates do. So I will always be up for night out. Its called Life…

May be its just me, do you ever find yourself worrying how much to have drunk over a period of time? Followed by what I now call the mandatory 2 pints of water when out on the beers.

Plus I don’t get hangovers these days.

alcohol, in excess, fucks with protein synthesis. the first couple drinks you have actually shoot test levels up, then drop dramatically when you start talking to random bar chicks about how your workouts are going and truely believe she gives a shit.

i don’t think a couple of beers after a hard day are going to kill you.
