Dragon Lady's Lair

Spock - I love my long hair but it does drag my face down when it’s not layered properly. I’m thinking of visiting my stylist to help with the front of it mostly.

LS - Thanks!

Maschy - You flattering child. Games: I know a few

For Maschy and Hallowed my dreamheads:

I had a really weird trippy dream this morning of finding a nest full of white baby and smallish adult owls on my balcony. A few of them got tangled in my hair and I thought it was cute and funny. General feel was positive. I never dream of owls.

Following that I dreamt my mother was blaming me for something (I haven’t phoned back this week to tell her about my trip. I need to do it today lol.) As a peace offering she had hid an angora-like black cat with a beautiful fluffy tail in my bed sheets (they are white). I was being a sulky child about the whole situation and I did not want it. (I’m a cat person my reaction to cats is usually highly positive).

I’ll tell you what I was focusing on before sleeping later to tie it all together.

smacking dat ass??

That’s gotta be it.

Wow you have great flexibly and speed. those are definitely my worst areas. I think the problem is I’m always second-guessing myself.

Awesome work in here!

Baby owls?

Thanks for bench info! Vid would be greatly appreciated.

wow, another new log! awesome intro, girl, and really looking forward to following along.

Apparently, seeing an owl in your dreams means wisdom and insight or somesuch. Or you could have just subconsiously noticed an owl photo or TV programme. Who knows?

looks like I have pretty good RAM but godawful ROM. lol.

Arachne - that’s what they looked like but a little whiter.

Peaches - I’ll get that vid on sunday when the gym is empty.

Alex - thanks doll

Cal - true

Lula - not bad at all and hitting the gym kept my sane.

Yesterday Evening: Sheiko Week 2 Day 3

I took 2 days off before going back to the gym. Hitting it hard on tuesday after a week off left me seriously aching. Good news; a lot of the small flare ups I had before the vacation have left (knees, shoulders) my only remaining issue are the wrists and even then these are diminished.

My brain always bucks against the gym on friday but I cajoled myself by saying that I was heading for an empty playground. Also I imagined a Brute Friday Gym Party knowing a couple of you guys regularly lift on fridays.

Non of it felt easy but it’s a good test of strength to see that I can muscle through Sheiko when I’m lacking explosivity.

Squats
120 1x4
140 1x4 - did the first 2 sets without a belt for the first time in a month. Felt fine and strong.
165 2x3
180 6x3 - these were heavy as all hell. By now I hadn’t squated in 2 weeks. My brain was trying to tell me I was crazy.

Bench - paused.
85 1x6
100 1x5
115 2x4
125 2x3
135 2x2 - solid
125 1x4
115 1x5
100 1x6
85 1x7

Dumbbell font raise
12.5lbs 5x10

Skullcrushers
20lbs 5x10

Squats
130 1x3 - no belt
155 1x3
180 4x2

Seated Goodmornings
65lbs 5x6

I used a regular barbell rather than a preloaded one and set myself up on the benchpress. Basically I grabbed the bar from the bench pins straight to my back rather than cleaning it and driving it over my head. Also the oly bar felt more balanced than a preloaded bar. It wasn’t pretty but I’m improving. Next time I’ll try with a little more weight.

Terrific your flare ups had a chance to reset. I don’t know but for some reason Friday’s are one of the easiest days for me to get to the gym, Monday’s are the worst. Of course it’ll be at least another month or so before I’m ready to return.

I feel a little silly asking this, but where are these numbers coming from?

MT - any excuse for a beer is good for me, and friday is an easy excuse. I’ve learned to say “I have to earn it. Beer after gym”.

Pixie- a website Oleena posted in her log a while back, I checked it out and got hooked. It appeals to my nerdy self: http://www.lumosity.com/.

Okay, that website is pretty cool

WOWEE! Now THAt looks like a damn fine workout if you ask me! Benchin’ them big boy plates has always been a dream of mine.

Funny, my one day of the week where I try to avoid going to the gym is Saturday, I don’t even know why. It doesn’t matter what I am doing there that day, for some reason the saturday atmosphere makes me feel sleepy, ha-ha.

OHH BTW, I went shopping for a “get me in the lifting zone” hat so I could be cool and stuff. OMFG 30 dollars for a HAT?! I left telling myself I’ll get myself in my own damn zone without a hat just fine, ha!

I’ve been doing that website since I saw it on your last log. My family loves it.

Nice benchin’ in here!

Yep that’s how I do seated GMs too
