Dr. Prescribed T4 Only

So my TSH # has been slowly increasing over the past year or so. My Dr has prescribed 50mcg T4 (Levothyroxine) a day. Everything I’m reading says supping with T4 alone is a bad idea. While my TSH is high, my T4 and T3 are within range. I’m tempted to just reschedule and talk to him about adding T3, so I can combine and enjoy the fat loss that would I would see from the two. Based of my blood work do you think I should even bother? I’m hesitant to start messing with my thyroid.

I supplement with 12.5mg of iodine btw

Pretty much the gold standard. Low T4 causes an increase in TSH. You have both high TSH and lowish T4.

Google stopthethyroidmadness and go to the website. It’ll go over why some do better on T4/T3 combo.
