This is interesting because E2 protects cardiac tissue. I wonder if the AI had anything to do with his health issues… RIP Crisler.
Until recently, the atheroprotective effects of estrogen were attributed principally to the hormone’s effects on serum lipid concentrations. However, estrogen-induced alterations in serum lipids account for only approximately one third of the observed clinical benefits of estrogen.3-5 Reviews of the data suggest that the direct actions of estrogen on blood vessels contribute substantially to the cardiovascular protective effects of estrogen.
Yeet, estrogen modulates endothelial function.
Also John Crisler, from what I remember was a bodybuilder back in the day. That + his tutorial videos have me believe he was juicing, potentially not heavily, however I do believe a hefty trt dose + GH might’ve been in the equation + I do believe he juiced heavily in his younger years. That being said I don’t think it’s appropriate to be speculating the cause of death so soon after his death, as it may be thought of as disrespectful
I deleted another post earlier because I thought it might be disrespectful. I’m telling myself though that he seemed like the type of guy that would have liked that he got guys talking about this in a way that led to to a better understanding of male health.
Your responses got me thinking. Maybe we should move to another thread. But…
T is naturally produced and managed by our bodies. We are simply filling the void. I don’t think my 40 year old body should have a 20 year olds T levels though. I think in long run my body can’t support it. Especially at 60+. Too much strain. One part of my bodies optimized, but my heart and other organs have not and are getting older. I have zero evidence for this, and I hope my opinion is wrong ![]()
End of day he was a great Doctor and specialized in everything androgens / TRT . He also left us with a great movement and understanding. I salute the man and prayers for his loved ones. He benefited thousands of lives. I hope I can say the same when I go. Probably not.
I see no reason to even think it was the medicine. It’s not like TRT docs are dying left and right. I bet if we ran statistics of all those on TRT vs those without, the death ratio would not raise quesoons. All the old “t causes cancer” or “T causes heart attacks” have been disproven. So taking this out of our mind we would be hard pressed to find so many problems with taking the medicine.
I also would not be surprised if people who started TRT lived a little longer due to the benefits and quality of life. Maybe they would of commuted suicide or stressed themselves out to a heart attack without. Instead they feel better and those potential outcomes were avoided.
It’s actually a very exciting time to start TRT (need), because of all the new data and thought process on the therapy. I can’t imagine what I’ll be doing in ten years. Who knows how we will
Change as more docs enter this industry.
He had a video where he talked about it, but he wasn’t serious and did not compete in body building. It sounded like he just moved weight like most of us.
I dont think anyone is being disrespectful. This is the kind of engaging discussion this man promoted and lived for.
i think his age, his activity level and stopping AI suddenly played a role in all of this.
I have been thinking that as i get older i might decrease my dosage every 10 years to mimic tge bodys natural decline proccess but kept at the upper end of age rekated normal.
How long was he on TRT?
Dr. Crisler had a history of heart disease according to a reputable source.
I agree. I posted this on EM forum too. Everyone talks about optimizing but I think they tend to go above range.
Can our aging organs handle these high range numbers? Can they handle these obscene amount of supps? Maybe dhea is not suppose to be in the high end when we get old? Alot of unknowns.
This charts tells us they we need not me low or high. We need to me right smack in the middle when r are old. Am 42 I expect I will not be injected more than 80 MG a week after age 60 or so. We will see. Need to keep this in mind. And if I get heart issues down the road, that may be cause to go to natty levels.
I agree. Furthermore he just cut out ai last month. Maybe he was in trouble already. Was it the years of his ai use or the fact he dropped his ai. Or maybe we don’t know he restarted the ai right before his heart attack.
Am speculating. If you go on his website check the video where he talks about the hear attack he had. Had a Stent put in.
Women live longer than men. After menopause it is my understanding that estrogen goes down.
I read that up to age 50 women heart risk is much less than men. But after 50 is similar to men. They talk about some women who after that have a high ratio of testosterone to estrogen are at greatest risk.
Which is what we been saying. High t with low e2 is very bad.
Sorry to Burst everyone’s bubble, but apparently it was Suicide this special podcast that was recorded after the YouTube round table, where JAY campbell one of his best friends was on it. One of them mentioned at 15 minute mark. Also somewhere in the podcast i don’t know what mark Jay campbell says he hung himself. 15:00 mark and 41:00 on wards
at bottom of the page is the radio podcast button.
Why he did it, i had no idea he seemed happy on Facebook with a girlfriend i assume she wanted to marry him. The radio podcaster who is also on TRT says if you’re just on Testosterone alone over time you lose brain Hormones (Pregnenolone & progesterone), and screws with your mind causing severe depression.
As far as I know. He supplemented this.
@physioLojik I would love to see your perspective on this statement
At the risk of sounding crass there is a whole lot of correlation=causation going here. If the man did indeed commit suicide (which is not uncommon in men, including those NOT on TRT) then he was dealing with some demons unbeknownst to us. Crisler, Bourdain, Williams, Chester Bennington, Chris Cornell, David Carradine(?), etc. Just to name a few. Men of all walks of life, intelligences, careers, etc fall victim to things that eventually lead to this dark decision. Maybe the TRT gave him an extra 5, 10, 20 years. Maybe not. But to correlate his death with one medication he was taking is a trait of the popular media and doesn’t get us anywhere closer to understanding alarming male suicide rates. Maybe more will come out in the coming months that prove me wrong (or right) but to speculate at this juncture is just pointless.
I agree bro . Innocent until Proven guilty… The TRT ![]()
This could happen to anyone… who knows why people go to such an extent. Has to be unbearable.
Im not seeing any mention of suicide in the above posted video. And honestly I have a hard time believing that he would commit suicide. Long term testosterone would have a higher rate of suicidality that would be recorded if that were the case.
Right???
What’s em? Where are those forums
Listening to the podcast mentioned above. Sounds like the gist of it was an over surmountable amount of stress from prescribing a medication to thousands of patients and now having big backlash related to Ai. I’m not a doctor so I have no idea the stress of being a doctor and managing so many peoples lives like that but if it’s anything like management, which is something I am familiar with, the stress alone of affecting other peoples lives is enormous. And I’m not a doctor I don’t work in a field of healthcare so my stress is probably a fraction of his stress. His stress is president of the United States level of stress. I honestly can’t imagine that kind of responsibility.
What’s AIS
AI - Anastrozole
I wasn’t meaning any disrespect at all. Just connecting some dots I saw right in front of me.
