Downloading Music

I’m almost sure I’ve read threads on this but a search isn’t working for me as far as finding them goes [although I am technologically disabled].

Where are you guys downloading music?

I used thepiratebay and mininova but now both of them are no good. thepiratebay stopped working, and switched to this magnet link thing that I know nothing about, and mininova isn’t putting up stuff other than by the content owners.

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Thread shows up in my hub but not on the forum main page…hmmmm

Edit: NM, now it shows. Looks like I’ve stumbled across the solution to the multiple threads problem. Just find the thread in your hub and post in it.

www.beemp3.com its a pretty good site… or do what i do now ,just get the dvdsoft free youtube to mp3 converter …

I’ve never used torrents for music, because I prefer to download songs, not entire albums. For this reason I use FrostWire, I’ve never had any problems with it and it’s free so you might as well give it a shot.

mininova and thepiratebay are down? Well this is news to me. Those are the two I rely on as well.

Piratebay was working for me as of yesterday (too lazy to check it now)…

But I generally just Google “(band/album) torrent” and see what pops up.

2 words: Scene Releases. What kinda of music you like? Go search teh web for scene releases regarding the genre of music you like

Ya, I don’t know why you would limit yourself to two websites.

isohunt was a really fine site, but recently they are having court issue with the industry

Rhapsody and MuvAudio.

Not free, but close.

Demonoid is really high quality as far as reliable torrents go.

Piratebay is working for me, but a month ago I did have it dip in and out. It’s my favorite by far regardless.

Check out torrent scan dot com.

Uh, Amazon?

I pay like 6 bucks for some albums.

Guess I’m the only sucker that actually pays for music, hunh?

Skreemr.com and I will search google sometimes for music blogs.

Well for metal albums, I usually type in google “band name album blog”. There is always a blog with links to stuff like mediafire, rapidshare, etc.

Magnet links work just fine in TBP. Just click the magnet icon and it’ll automatically open up in your bittorrent app. Assuming your using uTorrent (which you should be).

Damn why you gotta follow the rules like that?

Guess I’ll chime in on this one…

Use billboards tophitsonline.com to find out album release dates.

Download uTorrent from utorrent.com

Go to btjunkie.com and search away, works well for movies also. Just make sure you read reviews and seed after you’ve fully downloaded for a day to help out the cause.

I used to use Demonoid until I got a letter from my ISP about an episode of “The Office” that I’d downloaded. Haven’t torrented anything since. I stopped using P2P like Limewire long before that. Now I use newsgroups and Usenet, like Giganews, and more recently, Rapidshare.

I also hated leaving my pc on for days in order to seed when I used torrents. Leechers are welcome on Usenet and Rapidshare. Plus, the likelihood of getting caught are extremely slim. It’s pretty much never gonna happen. Way too private.

Pirate bay was up as of a few hours ago. d/ling an r5 of law abiding citizen now.

For music I only use frostwire though, I hate downloading whole albums. But I’m a leeching asshole, the second I notice something finishes I stop it from uploading.
