Any suggestions on computer games that can be downloaded online?
I found a site that looks okay, but a little expensive (although I don’t really know what’s expensive or not) direct2drive.com.
Does anyone know if there are better sites to download from, or had any experience with this one?

Better idea, go an buy Battlefield 2, its worth it, for the multiplayer.

As someone else mentioned, Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory was created by ID Software as an expansion but released for free. It uses the Quake 3 engine, and was made by the people who make Quake and DOOM.
You can also try America’s Army. It wasn’t my style, but it might be yours. Slow Paced FPS.
To the guy that said Battlefield 2 > Wolf: ET, no way. Battlefield 2 is nowhere near as good as ET, even though ET is free.
To the OP, many people like to make open source games, pretty much because they can. The vast majority will be put up on SourceForge.net. GL in your search.
Get a bittorent client and daemon tools and you can download any game you want.

I disagree, ET is old and BF2 is a masterpiece, particularly the fact most people’s PC won’t play it, its for the priveledged few !
The WWIII theme is just great, all that game needs is nukes.
