Lot’s of good comentary regarding JDS, he did a great job. But, let’s take a look at one reason he won. Carwin was obviously effected by his long lay off and that stupid diet that his nutritionist had him on. Furthermore, when you are 12-1 you don’t do a complete overhaul of your style.
He put every fighter that he faced up to JDS on the ground including Lesnar in the first round and within a minute or two. What kind of a moron takes a guy who can do that and makes him into a moving punhcing bag. They should have let Carwin be Carwin.
If anyone here thinks that JDS beat the Carwin of old they are on some very serious meds.

I think most of us would agree that Carwin’s nutritionist didn’t do him any favors.

This is more of a to be seen type of scenario. Shane’s previous opponents sucked so we can’t be to sure.

What are the odds that Carwin gains some of that muscle back? Even though he lost, I thought he looked his physical best against Lesnar. [/quote]
He needs to start working with people who will bring him back to his winning mental attitude and about 85% of his former style. And yes, bring in a nutritionist that understands the importance of protein. If he doesn’t do those things he might as well retire.

I mentioned this already in the UFC 131 thread, but he needs to jab. An actual jab that sets up his right hand would be a game changer. I do not think this loss can be blamed on his nutritionist, although I agree with you in general about protein.
