James, just curious. Were these dogs bred in Brazil and then sent to Asia where tigers live? To my knowledge the biggests cats in Brazil are jaguars.

The general consensus seems to be that mastiff types are the top dog and i can’t disgree cuz the American bulldog is in the family(all descendants of the molossus).The pit bull should be included(lots are less than 60lbs)on account of its amazing athleticism.A childhood friend of mine had a pitbull that could run 15 or more feet up a tree and grab onto a tire that was hanging there and then let go and scurry back down.His yard was also littered with cats that were stupid enough to venture in.(he also killed dogs which i didn’t find too cool but it shows that pitbulls are real warriors)
Anybody that knows about dogs knows that the American Pitbull Terrier is the gamest dog to be found. Small yet able to take down dogs much bigger than its own size. Yet a complete love on the other hand. If you own one, than you know that it can scale trees, pull mass amounts of weight, with extreme endurance. Not to mention that years of selective breeding has created a dog that is yoked without much exercise, it just is a muscleman. This shouldn’t even be a question.
I’ve got a pit-mix, unquestionably a little t-vixen. 50 pounds of pure muscle, and smart as anything! Unfortunately, she’s also vicious as hell to any thing with 4 legs…except my cat who keeps her in line! (I think it’s his 20 built in razor blades…) Pit-bulls (and Am-Stafs - because they are a lot like pits) have a bad rap because there are a lot of assholes out there who teach them to be vicious, but they are awesome dogs!
a pitbull named Megatron. 65lbs muscular as shit. super athletic, but he’s a big baby to be honest. I like Argentine dogos but don’t know where to get one. Does anyone know how much these things run, $.
Border Collies - they are extremely intelligent, highly active, strong, and lean. I have one named MacKenzie and she is well-tempered, very loyal, and highly protective. She’s not afraid of any dog and when she doesn’t like one, she’ll get right in its face and stare it down until the other dog backs down. My parents had one when I was little and he slept by my crib or bed every night and wouldn’t leave the room until I woke up and left too. If you ask me, she is the ultimate T-Dog.
My bad fellas, you guys are right…they hunt jags. Still, you have to admit, that is one fucking tough T-DOG.
Have any of you guys participated in or witnessed a schutzhund trial? My next shepherd is going to be schutzhund dog but my two current dogs were too old before I got into it. If you ever have a chance to see a trial I highly recommend it, it’s an amazing thing to see. I have a lot of prick neighbors so needless to say, i will not be owning a fila.
Ultimate T-dog? As this thread shows, a lot of personal perspectives. I personally appreciate the Rottweiler. I owned an 80lb male rott (gone now to cancer) who’s father was 125 and took down a handler doing schutzhund. The handler was 225 at 6’4". He (Rocky) hit the handler so hard he took him off his feet and drug him 10 feet before stopping. Pound for pound one hell of a dog. I personally like keeping the dog withing standards because I have one I show now. She is a little 6 month old bitch who is 40lbs of piss and vinegar. She just won her class in the regionals and will compete in the nationals in connecticut in May. My male rott was too light. The standard is 90-110. I think that it is like humans, you might have one huge dog, but a smaller one might kick your ass. Take Bruce Lee for an example. My bitch will compete in Schutzhund when she gets a little older. I agree with James, you gotta see this. I watched a dog this last weekend who after getting his teeth kicked out by some idiot cargo loaders for the airlines, had his teeth replaced via implants and hammered the handler, a year after surgery like nothing had happened. He also broke a guys leg in a previous competition, because the handler wanted to control the dog and not go with his movement. Broke his lower leg. Shephards are good at schutzhund, but Rotts rule.
Anatolian shephards are bad ass dogs. My anatolian is 185 rock hard pounds. There are only about 500 in the states, they come from Turkey and are soley bread for one purpose “to kill wolves”. Untill about 8 years ago Turkey prohibited the release of there anatoilian shephard that is why there are so few in the states. They have been extremely carefully bread here in the states and have amazing instincts
