God it hurts when it’s there time to go… I found out my brother’s husky/aussy mix died today. It’s really bad because he was my dog for a little while. It was an extremely difficult time while I took care of him for me for a number of reasons and I was in a deep depression and that dog meant the world to me. He would cheer me up with his goofy personality and an amazing sense of empathy you just don’t see in most dogs and it helped immensely pull me out of that pit of despair.
And now that I know he’s gone it’s eating me up. He was only 6 and vibrant and healthy and goofy as he’s ever been. And then in an instant just dead. I’d do anything to bring him back. That dog isn’t like family, he is family. And damned good family. Pico is what we called him. Short for Picasso because he had this dark brown square over his eye when he was a puppy like a Picasso painting.
RIP Pico. You’ll be missed.
What’s worse is that his mother got out of the house too and has been gone since Monday and still hasn’t returned. I don’t know what I’ll do if she’s gone too.
Sorry to be a downer. I’m not really sure where else to vent.[/quote]
I feel ya man. It sucks. That’s the kind of love that can’t be replaced.
My child. He’s 4.5 years old, a Blue Heeler mutt (mixed with some sort of pointer). Biggest baby in the world, but when it comes to other dogs he’s the ultimate Alpha Male. Got him from the pound when he was 8 weeks old.

I’ve got a half blue heeler/half chow mix! They’re incredibly loyal. Does your’s stick it’s nose in the back of your knee when you walk around for attention too?

Haha yup!
He also has a strange fascination with crotches, particularly women’s crotches. Anytime a (new) women comes over, regardless of age, he tries to sniff their crotch whenever he can. Very awkward.
But I second the incredibly loyal thing. That dog stays by my side and would do anything to protect me.

Nice, beautiful dog.

My old girl, Tiffany the Poodle. My sister brought her then moved out and left the dog.
Very cute. Looks like you caught he/she doing something naughty ![]()

Yeah, she would come back to heel as a car was coming down the lane towards her to she had to get a telling off, so maybe next time she won’t nearly get run over.

It’s funny how some dogs are so good about cars and traffic and some are clueless…

It’s strange how she can tell the difference between pet rabbits and wild one but she cannot figure out cars would kill her.
I was always baffled how my old husky knew it was okay to piss on carpet and furniture that people had put out by the curb, yet never messed anything in the house.

It’s funny, but we’ve all been told by “experts” that scolding a dog much later than the moment they misbehave is wrong, because dogs apparently have bad memories. I say that’s bullshit.
Everytime we left the house for hours at a time, we return home to find one of our dogs acting really guilty. She’ll either not look me in the eye, or she’ll stay hidden in her bed. SHE gives it away even before I notice the damage she caused - whatever it may have been.
Dogs are smart as hell, have great memory, and can reason through a problem when challenged!

X2.
Maybe an expert can explain the warm couch cushion when in fact the dog is in it’s cage when you walk in pretending to be asleep. Shouldn’t it be still on the couch going “what? I’m not allowed up here?, musta forgot”.
Why does Goofy stand erect while Pluto remains on all fours? They’re both dogs!
If Wile E. Coyote had enough money to buy all that Acme crap, why didn’t he just buy dinner?
Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog’s face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him on a car ride, he sticks his head out the window?

The wind doesn’t have bad breath. not saying you do, just an observation.

Why do hot dogs come in packs of 10 and hot dog buns come in packs of 8.
If you throw a cat out a car window, does it become kitty litter?
