I can tell you i am in no way nieve to addiction. I have been an addict my whole life. I have been on methadone for a decade. I have had multi year long addictions to pretty much everything at one point or another. I was simply saying that if he wasnt physiologically addicted and was truely only drinking twice a week then it was a choice at that point and not a life or death decision to continue drinking those 2 day.
Yeah, sorry NH_Watts. The substance abuse issue is a rampant thing these days. It’s one wicked nasty ordeal to go through. As far as drinking and drugs go, they are relevant to total health when on trt. Alcohol withdrawals can lead to hypertension, and T can exasperate that severely depending on the person. BP numbers elevate at an extended period and can prove to be problematic among other side effects.
Alcohol is a natural blood thinner. The blood can thicken shortly after withdrawal depending on the length of it’s consumption over many years and depending on how much a person drinks over that period. Alcohol can elevate BP during it’s use and elevate it to an extreme during very abrupt withdrawal.
Not to be alarming, but my uncle was a heavy drinker his whole life and ended up with blood clots in his legs when he abruptly stopped.
The man restarted eventually and I ended up pulling the business end of a .45 out of his mouth on 3 occasions while I lived with him…he eventually bought a case of gin and drank himself to death in a single night.
Alcoholism can also lead to Testosterone deficiency in and of itself.
Wow, you kicked Methadone as well? That’s the worst kick I ever had, hands down! I went from 180mgs to 0 without a taper. I personally wouldn’t do it again for any amount of money.

Still on methadone. 72 mg in the am and 73mg in the pm. Maybe once i get my hormones situationed getting off might be a possibility. For now however its not even a thought.

I feel yuh. Sorry to alarm you about the kick. If you ever come off…slooow taper brother. If your Methadone clinic permits it, take your time coming off that substance. I dunno if you’ve ever gone 3-4 weeks without it, but that’s probably the worst of it.
You want to know an amazing fix to stop drinking? Get your gall bladder removed. I had mine taken out 8 yrs ago (not by choice) and can’t so much as drink a beer without having to run to the bathroom with explosive diarrhea. Something to do with filtering the alcohol before it gets to your liver. But in the last 8 yrs I have been drunk once and paid for it dearly for the next 2 days.
I have came off 24mg of suboxone cold turkey prior to methadone. Disnt sleep for weeks. I would have to go walking all night or i would just kick my wife in bed nonstop. I also switched from 100mg methadone with 3 days off then back to suboxone. I was sick for 3 months before switching back to methadone.

Thanks NH_Watts, it just runs in my family. Brother hung himself, maternal grandfather and paternal grandfather drank themselves to death over a number of years, uncle took himself out with a shotgun, maternal aunt and paternal grandfather died from substance abuse complications. I’ve…kind of gotten used to it…

All the rest are working on dying from this crap except my paternal aunt who isn’t a substance abuser. My son’s struggling with it. My mom is finally taking getting sober seriously after I put her in treatment 8 years ago. She’s got 3 months sober. I’m the first in my family to get clean and sober man.
After being sober for awhile I’ve been able to have friends that drink and smoke weed occasionally. I can’t touch the isht cause all bets are off when I do. I break shit, hurt others and get hurt. Last time I drank I went from nothing to a half gallon of vodka and a 24 pack a day by day 6 of a 10 day spree…didn’t end well…still repairing relationships from way back.
Anyone who’s got this thing genetically or crosses the line into regular abuse, only gets worse over time.
Feckin 'ell this shit’s no joke for me anymore. It was fun a long time ago for me, but it just caught up. My friends who drink keep me the hell away from it…they’ve seen what happens to me.
Just glad to be unshackled man.

Subs are pretty rough. My kick off Subs sucked ass too. I’ve heard nightmare stories about Sub kicks, but I think everyone handles their kicks differently. I only came off 16mgs Suboxone and it was a heavy mental kick but I wasn’t glued to the floor in agony shitting myself with a .380 in my hand and no bullets.
Switch to suboxone much better and not so hard on the body. Easier to taper off as well.

I was sober ten years and now on suboxone. It fudged my hormones and I’m trying to get back to feeling normal before getting off it. I’m at 3 mg a day.

It would take me like 3 years of tapering to be able to switch to suboxone and i have pain issues and i have found the methadone helps with anxiety and depression/mood. I work in a business where i cant be mentally or physically down because it will seriously effect my performance.
Dude, I get it. I had 3yrs, 1.5yrs, 6yrs, 2yrs, 2yrs, and 2yrs going at it. Any reduction in dose is progress, rough, but it’s something man. Hell I went to meetings on Suboxone after a relapse and told anyone that didn’t like it that I would leave…if they could make me.
Needless to say, I stuck around. I’m glad your not having to come of a larger dose.

No need for aspirin. What’s your HCT? Drink water! I recently tested and my HCT was 53 with no water, retested again with water and HCT was 48.
I would take to prevent the first heart attack. And has some anti cancer claims notably colorectal
