I got a 9 shot revolver (shoots 22 and 22 mag), with a broken transfer bar. It is a Taurus (which is maybe on the cheaper end?). I think I can send it in to be fixed, but heard that takes a long time.
Is this something a local gun shop could fix? About how much $ to fix. I like plinking with the gun, so having it operational is a goal of mine.
Taurus is on the budget end of revolvers, but they make a fine revolver. Iāve enjoyed many.
Sending it in to Taurus is going to take quite some time. A certified gunsmith should be able to fix it no issues granted they have the parts - which they probably donāt.
Well we know where to go in the event of a zombie apocalypse. My friends think Iām crazy but in reality I only have 5 long guns and about a dozen pistols. My favorite firearm is my CZ scorpion. I kind of have one of everything I want though. The 6.5 creedmore for several hundred yards, the AR15 for mid range, a short barrel shotty for home, an over under for trap shooting, and a 10/22 for target plinking.
Iāve never collected guns but I did used to shoot competitively at a fairly high level. Had some really cool hand built race guns and stuff. Some days I miss it but mostly not lol
I would imagine that as long as you get quality components designed for the round, they would hold up just fine. 308 isnāt exactly a world destroyer in terms of recoil, but itās a fair bit more stout than 556.
22lr is an awesome round. It can still be had at like .05 or .06 per round, so you can burn through a lot of it without feeling the hit on your wallet too much.
In terms of pure fun, 44 magnum is a rockinā good time. And next range trip Iām going to try out some 30 US Carbine (which look like long 9mm rounds) from a magazine fed lever action rifle and I think itāll be legit.
22LR is a great round for training and kids and it is just fun. 22 MAG is as well. I have suppressed bolt action 22 mag and it is a lot more fun than you would think.
44 magnum is fun to shoot depending on the gun. At least a 6 inch + barrel. The rounds are just so damn expensive now. It is one that I reload though.
Another round that is fun with no recoil is the 5.7 - just hard to find and pricey as well.
Suppressed 22 is just fun all around no matter the gun lol.
I have a tactical henry X lever in 44 mag suppressed - I almost forgot about.
Quite a few folks have them around me. I have a FN in 5.7 - I have thought about grabbing the newer ruger in 5.7 and the new keltech. I just donāt have as much time to shoot anymore with 2 kids.
Side note - I am going to a big Daniel Defense private showing Saturday for testing of their new lines - specifically the mk18 sbr.
I enjoy restoring old guns. Just finished an ithaca 37 16gauge (1952). My cz p10f in pic too. Next i have a remington model 11 (1927) 12 gauge, full choke, ribbed. Ive got plenty of modern guns, but i like playing with old stuff.
