I’m saving up for a project gun, that may eventually be a host for my first suppressor. Have you ever had a holster made for a suppressed pistol? I’m assuming it would have to be custom work.
I’m about 95 percent set on the new Marlin 336, now manufactured by Ruger, as my 2023 gun purchase. It strikes me as a very similar concept to the new Colt Python. I like how we’re seeing the best designs of my grandfather’s times optimized with modern manufacturing methods and materials.
My uncle recently scored the Stainless 1895 .45-70 for $1150, so prices are coming down. We haven’t found any reasonably priced ammo to shoot it, but I have been able to aggressively finger it and the fit and finish seems excellent.
@Bauber Hey dude do you have any suggestions for high-vis paint to touch up some old sights?
My Beretta Cheetah is quickly becoming one of my favorites, but the sights are trash. I put some red nail polish where the white dot used to be, but it doesn’t have much more pop than the faded old white did. I’m not expecting fiber optic brightness, but even the orange plastic around the tritium vial of my Glock sights works well.
I would use some Tritium paint from Truglo or Glow-On, whichever color you prefer. Just make sure you clean off the old paint and clean the surface with acetone or alcohol very well to make a nice clean surface for the paint to stick to.
I have also used synthetic resins on a few guns to fill sight holes, which holds up nicely.
