Dodgin’ Dadbods: Fortitude Training

Ha ha, you guys talking about 2 guys I’ve always been sceptical of due to no pictures or videos. I always check in to see some evidence but it’s not there.

Do any of you lot know who I am or what my face looks like? Am I doing the anonymous thing successfully?

Are you asking that legitimately or are you asking if you’re a fake online person?

O the former, I think you’ve done a good job of hiding your face (unlike me).

Yeah I have hidden my identity on here, but I feel if challenged I could post pretty much any physique or lift video required and still stay anonymous without someone really digging.

So I can see no reason for not posting a quick pic or vid without a face.

Total fail everyone knows you’re Kevin Durant

You challenged me to a pull up video, you posted one back without me even asking for a return one (and one-upped me accordingly). So yeah, you probably are who you say you are, and besides, pictures were promised repeatedly in this instance, so anonymity is not the reason for pictures not being posted. We have catfishing now man, people don’t even know with a picture that you are who you say you are. We’re asking for literally the lowest, most generic, and most easily faked form of proof on the internet. At least, I am. Doesn’t seem like a tough standard to me. I have not-tough standards elsewhere too, like, if I follow a weightlifting program written by someone, I would probably like to know that the person who wrote it actually exists. The ‘burden’ of proof is more like a light, soft cardigan of proof these days, I suppose.

I’m Tupac, btw.

Hit 'em up.

Lol, it wasnt an “I don’t believe you” call out. I was just interested in how those reps looked, and it showed that you were willing to back up what you were saying despite it not being in your training plan for the day. I really respected that.

I really don’t get it when people just blindly take advice or take some one as an authority on a subject with absolutely nothing to go on. I don’t mean to disrespect the 2 folk in question, it’s more the people who don’t think to question or doubt when there is no evidence to go on other than words.

I’m far more interested than I should be on who the second anonymous poster is. I may have to go all Agatha Christie.

I know, haha, I didn’t take offense at all, my point was, it’s the internet. You say you can do something? Better be ready to show yourself trying. It was a fair request, which is why I acquiesced it, and I respected your response to it. Never had a bad vibe from that experience whatsoever!

umm…his name directly involves the name of the creator of the most popular rest-pause training program?

In that case, I believe another regular poster actually knows him personally. I may be misreading there though. Haven’t come across him much.

On the plus side, the former is encouraging people to work hard and be consistent. If he’s fake then at least he’s recommending a simple and proven training plan and progression.

The latter offers some solid advice and has forced me to think (and that’s a good thing). The only things he’s posted that have bothered me are things like his girlfriend’s results under his training and what’s possible in terms of natural muscle building.

In the world of internet trolls, these are pretty harmless people. Both have basically said “You can do it if you work hard enough.” That’s not the worst advice I’ve seen.

Good, then. There’s evidence of his existence! All claims aren’t necessarily verified but I take another member’s vouching as proof of life, for sure. Not to mention, I don’t know that I’ve seen any of his lifting numbers or anything like that, and haven’t been in his log. Was more to do with blanket statements about injuries.

@Frank_C agreed. It just confuses me. Anyhoo, Happy New Years guys!

@MarkKO and I will always encourage a bulk, haha.

Your body is an anomaly! You’re “heavy” by your standards and you still don’t have a belly roll or love handles.

I’m spilling over my jeans a bit these days! But thank you, people are always shocked when they hear how heavy I am. Just a dense 5’9", and my Dad likes to tell people it is because I’m so full of shit.

I’m with you on that issue.

My two cents, he’s full of shit. I’ve spent some time going over numbers he claims he can do and nothing adds up. The closer you look, the worse it gets.

I’m guessing you’re referring to a somewhat nutty poster.

Never thought about it from a powerlifters POV (could you tell by my troll post about PLing?), but you seem pretty passionate about gaining strength, smart lifting, and the grind. I imagine it’d get under my skin if someone was just arbitrarily adding lbs to their total, haha

Oddly enough, that’s not what pisses me off.

It’s the dishonesty and the self aggrandisement. Not to mention it is insulting people’s intelligence, to make claims that on even the slightest consideration are pretty obviously spurious. Although, given the reception it seems like he picked his rubes pretty well because the majority of people seem to just go along with it and pat him on the back.

I’ve only recently seen anyone start to question him, when he’s been making claims that are at significant variance to what he presented when he first came on the site (around the same time as I did).

Cmon man, I honestly believe that if you eat potatoes and lift heavy 60% of the time, all the time, that everyone can squat 800 lbs!

And if you can deadlift 900 pounds for 20 reps, you’ll be big!

oohs and ahs at the simplicity of wisdom

This is pretty much how I entirely feel. I don’t really care, but I care enough to question or say something so others potentially know what they are dealing with. Again, I hope I’m wrong.

I had the thought the other day that maybe he just adds 100 pounds to all his lifts. Those numbers seem more likely, and that would make it easier to keep up with the bullshit.

He’s gained 8 pounds in 20 months and you see what has happened to his lifts. Mark you’ve gained how much, and your lifts have gone up how much? Yeah, that’s what I thought. I know we’re all different. BUT THAT SHIT DONT ADD UP!

Or I need some of what he’s taking. And I’m not talking about da bullshit.
