Real question: how often is alligator eaten in Florida, and is it an easy meat to come by? Or is it like most game meat in that you’ll only have it if you hunt it, or know someone who does?
Yes!!! As much as I love the stuff In Publix (second to Costco) , I can’t stand the prices
Really makes me want to go to Walmart sometimes
It is awesome and motivating seeing so many people training and achieving goals through so many different means. Since I’ve joined, I’ve seen a lot of different training styles I had never seen or heard of!
Alligator is fairly easy to come by especially at local meat markets and stuff. We do have alligator farms whose sole purpose is to raiser alligators for consumption/leather products. There is a hunting season but it’s limited and based on a lottery.
The problem is that it’s expensive to buy gator cuts. They have to feed them with chickens/ducks. So you are growing meat with other meat that already costs 1-2 dollars a pound.
Most people turn it into jerky or fry it. It’s tasty though.
Agreed 100%
It’s practically impossible to find non “free range” eggs over here, not that I’d try anyway, but the better quality, yellow yolk varieties solve a lot of issues for me. I can (and regularly do) eat eggs daily now with no real issue, previously I only ate eggs once every few weeks because the bio hazard rating was pretty serious.
Gym got a titan trap bar. Sturdy as all hell. Love it, except I’m gonna have to mostly use bumpers on it because I first loaded metal plates and the clang was obnoxiously loud - I don’t mind the sound but I figured people might not want to hear a ton of clanging. Of course, I shouldn’t have even been doing trap bar deadlifts, but the weights I use to do accessory #2 were all being occupied, so I did TBDL’s at 225x10, which was MISERABLE.

Finished with 5 sets of 15 heavy ab crunches on the nautilus ab crunch. For all my jokes about nautilus, it’s a great machine - I’m not really a fan of the ab crunches that have you move your lower body too. It sounds counterintuitive, because the moving of the lower body should theoretically enhance the movement, but having my legs anchored really lets me crunch the weight down hard, almost like if I was hanging upside down doing sit-ups.
My gym continues to be awesome with their equipment - every 6 months a bunch of new stuff pours in, from tons of boxing bags, to different bars, benches, machines, and any time a machine or piece of equipment is down it’s fixed or replaced within a week.
Killing it as usual!
Didn’t you break a trap bar not too long ago?
Yup, it was 2 weeks ago. They just got this new one in this week, apparently. The old one had handles that rotated too, so when pulling the slack out of the bar, you’d pull the slack out of the handles, then the slack of the bar up to the weights, THEN the weights - this has the thick handles that are welded. The weld I broke before was part of the hex. Overall this thing is just way sturdier, so I’m psyched to get down to bizness with it.
Dude you kick ass
Thanks dude! I forgot the trap bar is 60#, so 2 plates makes 240. Will proudly add those 15# to all my deadlifts, haha.
That Titan bar is legit. One of my favorite purchases. Good that you got a chance to use one. They’re awesome to press too!
Yeah, unless it’s in my head, it has a pretty narrow handle width, which I have no problem with because I have a close stance, and it’d be easier on the shoulders.
Shame on you for killing the atmosphere with that trap bar fuelled clanging and banging ![]()
I’ve seen a lot of people comment on how the specs of the bar indicate narrower handles. I haven’t used much in terms of trap bars to be able to compare, and I have a slight frame, so I haven’t noticed one way or the other as far as pulls go, but it’s a dream to press.

Accessory 1 involves lottttttsa deep knee bend, calves touching hams, knees way out in front - feeling super healthy there. Hip still staying pretty pain-free. Does tighten up a bit from time to time if I sit back to far or misgroove something but it’s not the sharp pain that I can feel when I press on it anymore, and I don’t have to worry about it aching when I stand up from sitting for a while.
If I squat like a catcher then it kills my knees. Do you experience that? I think your leg exercises are different but I’m curious for the sake of joint comparison.
I did certainly experience that, but it was a result of weakness and lack of mobility, not a result of the position being inherently bad. Now, they feel strong, even as I sit in the bottom position with the SSB and a plate on it.
