Actually, I think some of our labels just say hot dog, wiener or frank, but some specifically say beef hot dog/wiener. I grab those.
I love context.
Yeah I was thinking a hot dog is generally whatever the hell is left over. Oscar Meyer dogs are pork, turkey and chicken and the high end dogs are beef. They literally are all over the place…probably to include now lab grown “meat.”
Sorry training log completely derailed. But these are things a person must know.
So, “hamburgerkött” (hamburger meat) is the name for smoked horse meat meanwhile a “hamburgare” (a hamburger) is always assumed to be beef here in Sweden.
Horse meat is highly underrated. It’s flavourful like beef, and incredibly lean.
And so hard to come by because most people do not want to eat horse
I honestly don’t really like horses. I’d rather eat one than ride one.
It also occurs to me that that last sentence may have inadvertently been a Jeffrey Dahmer quote.
Deep Water: Beginner Program Week 5, Day 3
Strict Press
115 10x10
Lateral Raises
3x10 each arm
BB Curls
65 5x10
Sit ups and back extensions, 3x20 each no rest
Strict presses were definitely tough with the 2 minute rest but I smashed it until set 6. I find I can rest in the overhead position a bit easier than the bottom position, but on set 10 I kept it up there way too long before the last rep, and it was the grind of the century. Anyways, the rest of the workout was smooth sailing, for the most part. Felt good and strong.
Haven’t weighed myself in some time now…jumped on the scale right before my workout and saw 230.0, lol.
^^ Proof that kids today have no inkling of “consequences”. (old geezer talk…) Back when I was 14/15, if somebody that looked like you, all pumped up from doing pullups and pushups, told me to stop doing something I knew was wrong, I’d stop STAT.
In terms of skateboarders and bikers, they’ve always been in a category of their own in terms of bucking authority. Combine that with the fact that there were kids everywhere and they banked correctly on the fact that I wasn’t going to assault a child for vandalizing a bench, and they got to run their mouths a bit.
But me, personally, especially given I was a string bean in high school - I’m right there with you. I would have booked it the second someone yelled “HEY” at me, and I don’t think I would have been doing that in broad daylight with families around. I don’t envy the teachers that have to control these kids after the summer…
If I were tempted to do such a thing, I’d turn right back around once I saw @flappinit
@oldbeancam how you doin buddy? Still pushin through DW?
You caught me! I might be a few pounds ahead today. I stuffed myself with pasta and homemade meatballs last night. There was also chocolate sheet cake and homemade strawberry ice cream. I followed that up with a free feast at work today. I feel like a stuffed sausage right now.
Down here most sausages are beef, we also have lamb, chicken and pork. But if someone asks if you want a sausage you would always assume beef. No idea what hot dogs are made of !!
You don’t look happy in those photos, is it the deep water effect?!
To be fair, the first one is a pretty fair version of Blue Steel.
Haha, yes but flaps eyes look sadder, like deep waters stolen a piece of his soul, probably somewhere between set 7 & 8 of some 10x10 monstrosity.
I think its practice. From what I gather the very last part of deep water is being photographed with great consternation on ones face in front of prepared food containers? some kind of salad bar?
Not so much. Got to week 4, slipped on the stairs and I’m not able to raise my left arm much without leaning backwards so I’m not overhead pressing at all. Haven’t been able to bench in about a year due to shoulder problems so I already wasn’t doing the bench day.
Just decided to move on at the moment and come back when I can actually overhead press again. Right now I’m just deadlifting twice a week and front squatting with shoulder rehab work until I’m good to go again.
EDIT: Wanted to add though that I am using DW principles for my deadlifts and front squats though, just heavier. So I’m doing 4-5 sets of 10 with decreasing rest periods weekly, pulling from the floor one day, deficit the other.
I don’t recall him being known for eating horses
