Dodgin’ Dadbods: Fortitude Training

Congrats and good luck! That sounds like a positive change.

I avoid public restrooms if at all possible. But even from my very limited exposure, I know that there are “people” who don’t wash their hands after…you know; I am assuming these same “people” are not using enough toilet paper, if they’re using it at all…

So, why is there still a shortage of TP? One possible answer I guess is that garages can hold a lot more TP relative to freezers holding ground beef. I think there should be a PSA social media campaign explaining that TP is made from recycled paper, using automated machinery.

Yeah, I think TP is just really easy to stockpile, and easy to use frivolously when you have a lot of it.

By the way, I’m fully confident in my ability to finish the nutrition aspect of this program, by the way, but I was a bit tired of ground beef today, and I have a feeling that by the last day of week 6 I might rather wipe my ass with a hamburger patty and eat toilet paper than the other way around.

If one can use a hamburger patty on a black eye, I don’t see why one can’t use a hamburger patty on a brown eye.

What is it you like about 5/3/1? That it’s straightforward?

Yup! Simple, and effective, with a combination of variety and rigidity.

I’ve always liked his writings, but never made it through one of his programs.

That said, I’ve enjoyed the simplicity of my last couple weeks, so who knows.

Jims work sounds very easy, and it is very easy.
It just takes time, slow and steady progress is the name of the game.

I think I get impatient when I feel good, which I recognize is the wrong attitude, but I tend to want to run myself into the ground and burn out

That is the beauty of Jims work.
One lift, One all out effort on that lift, you can absolutely bury yourself here.
Everything after that topset is just supplemental or assistance, working on building the muscles and weak points.
Simple and easy to access if you don’t get carried away in the but I don’t hit the muscle in every angle

And therein, sir, lays my issue

Year I hear you man, I’m just about the same. But I’m maturing for the first time I’m almost only doing BBB + some extra but not as much as I would have done a couple of years ago.

It’s so fucking hard to control the urge to jump the gun and lift heavy, haha. Right there with you. But submax weights just work. Every time I push too often, plateaus abound.
