Do You Take a Shower at the Gym?

I don’t mind taking a shower, and make no effort to keep myself covered…I really don’t care if guys in the lockerroom see me naked. As far as other men naked…my opinion…WHO CARES IT’S A LOCKER ROOM!!! If guys want to be naked or talk naked that’s cool, just don’t look. Just use etiquette and sit on a towel and keep a towel between your junk and any communal surface (bench, sink, counter)

You’re one of the offenders were are talking about. Guys like you are why I avoid the locker room as much as possible. Yes, it does bother some of us when we walk into the locker room only to find hoards of hairy, flabby, droopy, mottled and frankly nauseating man ass all grouped together discussing bullshit topics as if this were Homosexual Heaven and I got sent to the wrong afterlife.

Nudity alone does not bother me. Nudity plus constant gabbing and free flying penises as I’m trying to just walk to the toilet does.

You guys aren’t just naked, you have talk to people…and raise one leg up as you dry your pubes in the hand dryer…and then shave those same pubes over the sink as if you have some photo shoot to get to right after training…and then saunter your drooping nutsacks all over the place as if God hadn’t invented TOWELS.

I swear, most of you guys spend more time in the locker room than you EVER do on the floor actually lifting weights…and that, my dear nude free flowing friend is just weird.
Hahaha… sounds like what happens in my old gym’s changeroom, scary as hell. Don’t know why old people feel the need to saunter around talking to everyone in the nude.

I usually work out before work or mid day as my gym is less than a mile from my office, so I have to shower there. I wear flip flops and take reasonable caution with touching anything. I’ve never even gotten so much as athletes foot. I don’t generally shave there.

Also, my gym (at least at the times when I go) is not filled with old fuckers or fags, so I’m never bombarded by a sea of swinging dicks or anything. Most of the time it’s just me and maybe one other person in the locker room.

Over the years I’ve run into a few gym situations where there has been fags / annoying chatty people in the locker room. But that’s why I never join a gym without insisting on a free two week pass before I sign a contract. They always let you workout for free before you sign up. That way you can avoid the gay locker room gyms! (I live in DC, so there are like 50 gyms where I could potentially work out at)

Fags?? Seriously?

Do I smell a homophobe?

I don’t mind gay people at all as long as they don’t stare at me in a gay way or try to touch me in a gay way. I am definetely not down with ball cupping…

I’m pretty much forced to shower at the gym since I train during my lunch break, and I sweat my ass off, so I can’t go back to work like that. I have perfected the 1000 yard stare, never make eye contact with anyone in there, or you WILL get the never-ending naked old man conversation. I ALWAYS wear shower shoes, and ALWAYS hit the feet with an anti-fungal spray after.

I try to just get my business done and get the hell out. Total military-style showers, 1 minute max. I have seen some disturbing shit in there. I saw something that really creeped me out last week. This dude who I had seen in the weight room walks into the shower. He’s a relatively normal-looking dude.

He turns around and turns on the shower, and he has a HUGE tramp-stamp tat. I was just thinking “I’m in a shower with a dude who has a cum-catcher above his ass.” That one was a 30-second shower.

LMFAO!

Not laughing at what you said (I happen to agree), but how you said it! Doc, you truly have a way with words! LOL

Anyway, in my 20s I worked out at the Jewish YMCA in Philly. After my workout, I’d exit the building by going through the mens’ locker room, though I never took a shower there. Several months later, a friend of mine commented on my “fans” there.

I asked what he meant and he said, “You never noticed? When you go down to the locker room, a group of gay guys always follows.” When I heard that, I felt relieved that I made the right decision in never showering in public.

Run for your life!!! Tramp stamps are for girls only.

I imagine that gyms are an excellent place to see dudes naked! That’s kinda of cheating because it’s not like the straight guys have access to see women shower naked in a public place. Imagine your drooling over a hot chick in the gym and then you get to hang out in the shower and see them naked? WTF! I just blew my freakin mind!

Maybe I need to clarify a few things in my post. I do take a shower at my gym and don’t make a effort to keep myself covered because I’m comfortable being naked in the locker room. It’s meant to be a place of showering and changing, therefore there will be some nudity. However I do keep a towel with me at all times and do not make an effort to parade my nudity in front of others.

I too have these type of gentlemen in my gym locker room, in fact depending on what time of day I am at the gym the locker room maybe be swarming with these type. I agree with you that I do not enjoy looking at these fellas or being around a bunch of them naked, so as a result I just don’t look at them. Or if I do then I look at their face and avoid all they other lovely junk that is hanging out.

No drying one’s pubes in the hand dryer, or shaving them in there is gross!!! Some things need to only be done at home. Plus I think everyone should keep a towel between any of their skin and a communal surface. If you want to sit naked, then sit on a towel. Shave naked at the skin then wrap in a towel or at least cover the counter/sink with a towel. TOWELS ARE YOU FRIEND IN A LOCKERROOM!!

As far as conversation in the locker room while nude go lots of guys at my gym do that and I have on an occasion. Just don’t be right in everyone else’s way. And if I (or you) don’t want to participate then don’t talk to anyone and they’ll leave you alone.

Overall just mind your own business and don’t worry so much about everyone else. Or if you can’t handle some nudity then stay out of the locker room.

I’ve done it like twice and that was when the water heater was broken and being fixed at my place. I live less than 5 minutes from my gym so i see no point in showering there.

I agree with whoever made the comment about old naked men just hanging out. I walked into the bathroom once to wash my hands and some old guy was standing there shaving with a shirt on and nothing else. I don’t understand why he put his shirt on and didn’t put any underwear on or anything.
lol

i hate old people.

Damn you! Now I have to invest in a home-gym.

Poot-Sack. I LOL’d…and am still laughing.

LOL - hardly. But some gyms are just “cruising grounds” for folks who have “caught teh ghey”. I went to one gym (the Bally’s in Pentagon City, VA) with my GF at the time (it was her gym) and I swear, that locker room was just filled with butt pirates. The same ones were there when I was finished my workout! Just hanging out nekkid, swinging in the breeze and giggling with each other. Needless to say that was the last time I ever went there! Besides, they had only one pathetic excuse for a squat rack jammed in the corner so you could barely load weight on it and they had those rubber coated 45’s and the dumbbells only went up to like 60 lbs. - hands down the gayest gym I ever went to!

I trained at my previous gym for about 1.5 years and I never used the sauna once. I showered there twice because my bathroom was being completely redone and I had no choice!

Even the gym manager said to me that he would never shower there because of reasons that have already been discussed above.

As for my current gym, well… letâ??s just say that I wonâ??t be showering there even if I need to redo my bathroom again!
