Do You Believe in Ghosts?

I’m not a superstitious person nor believe in supernatural phenomenon, everything MUST have a scientific explanation, right?

Years ago I spent two months in the Utah wilderness with a group of about 14 people.

On a couple occasions, we saw what could only be described as legitimate skinwalkers. Even our horses would be spooked prior to us observing the animal-like creatures.

There was no logical explanation: lighting, perspective, etc.

We were on a survival-type trip, so far removed from the tourist areas the chances of other people/groups was virtually zero.

I’ve been on countless expeditions all over the country, and NEVER encountered anything remotely similar.

The basement was very creepy. It was old, unfinished, and there was a separate room, off to the side, that had a dirt floor and no apparent use. I never once set foot into that little dirt room, it just felt evil.

Of course, it did remind me of the red room in the Amityville Horror, which probably had something to do with it. My mother never liked that house, either.

Yeah, there are places that just feel evil, and while it may just be all in your head, I wouldn’t fuck around with it.

Last time I was in London I stopped by the Imperial War Museum and they had a holocaust exhibit, and that stuff had bad mojo. I know they’re just inatimate objects but I wouldn’t spend any more time around it than I had to.

This made me think of The Leather Funnel, a short story by Arthur Conan Doyle. There’s a character that collects miscellaneous historical objects of interest, and believes that their histories are revealed when a person sleeps near them, in their dreams. It’s quite chilling, actually.

I would.

For every “legit” ghost story I’ve heard, there have been hundreds along the lines of “and then it turned out to be Sarah’s coat, hanging on a broomstick, with the fan on”.

Agree.

My friends house was haunted. We had all sorts of strange things happening there - when we had parties there would be all sorts of eerie things going on.

I stayed over one night to see what would happen and some truly freaky shit went down. I heard running down the stairs (staircase was wooden), crunching bottles downstairs, etc.

I, and all our friends, were convinced something was there.

My friend told me about a year later he’d staged everything - it was extremely well planned since he’d fooled over 30 people - including his parents. I’m the only one he’s told, he said he’d done it to prove just how simple it was to convince people of the supernatural.

A part of me still wants it to be true, as pissed off as I was for him pulling the wool over my(our) eyes.

the 4 corners area utah, colorado, new mexico and arizona the sacred trbial land of the navajo people. this is where almost all these stories come from.

originally skinwalkers were released to the people to be used as a weapon to back the white man off the land.

but now like anything they get corrupted with the power they had. but one thing you have to remember is that they never attack for no reason.usually the fuel is jealiousy but living in the wilderness you do get bored and have to entertain yourself somehow right?

You’re going through something similar to the sex-change people. The way they feel trapped in the wrong body. Just believe in ghosts and get it over with.

I think it’s interesting to read about infrasound as a possible explanation for some of these kind of things.

Sounds more like peyote than ghosts. lol. But seriously, why would it harm you? My understanding is that ghosts are merely energy. They usually aren’t out to harm anyone. They merely co-exist with us.

These aren’t ghosts, they’re people with bad juju.

Have you been paying attention?

I clicked on the links just now. Oh, those people. I’ve heard of that type before. Not from a Native American though. I think the guy was into witchcraft or something. That’s a little over the top for me. I don’t blame Nich for being scared.

Ghosts exist…well, to be accurate, ghosts LINGER on.
One of the finest movies ever that explored the central theme of why ghosts linger - “Espinazo Del Diablo” or “Devil’s Backbone”. Que es un fantasma? What is a ghost?

Its an emotion frozen in time - something that feel unfulfilled, or has been brought to an abrupt end. Something that is unable to come to terms with the end of its existence, or rather the fact that everyone else has accepted the end of its existence.

The present day american obsession with ghost hunting has led everyone to believe they can SEE ghostly presences as “orbs” or whatever, but for the most part those are cleverly manipulated tricks.

The subset of ghosts dealing with human spiritual presence is what you’re interested in, i presume. And yes, spiritual presences can be FELT all the time, depending on your level of ESP, spiritual awareness, open-mindedness, whatever.

To communicate with a spiritual presence is a different matter, and as someone who floats with a team that has attempted to communicate with disturbed “entities”, it is possible but its by trial and error.

Skinwalkers are not ghostly presences, and they do not have a signiicantly higher spiritual presence than humans (if that).
They are a different breed of corporeal entities that can be malevolent. YOu would do best to avoid interacting with them, seriously.

did he have an Acme rocket strapped to his back?

I am being very serious. heres the veiw from the tow truck I had to get to fetch the car out of the ravine.

in native folk lore we call them Yee-naaldlooshii
or “those that walk on all fours” oe " they go on all fours" navajo is a weird language with so many meanings for one word anyway
some people call them skinwalkers,

and I am going to leave this thread alone now after explaining myself because this is the only thing that scares the shit out of me and I dont want to risk having any come around here.

Are you even aware that everytime you walk around or simply stand or sit or whatever, you are immersed in countable but massive number of spiritual presences, many of which are “blind” to your presence, some of which choose not to make their presence felt to you?

Ok - here’s one for you all.

Bearing in mind that I don’t believe in ghosts - there seems to always be a rational explanation.

So figure this one out for me.

I remember this vividly as does my brother. Our accounts of the story match perfectly.

When I was about 18 my parents went to the Greek Islands for a 3 week holiday. My younger brother (16) and I stayed at home, watching the house, partying etc.

One evening, early on (only 1 or 2 beers consumed, maybe 6.30pm) we were sat in our living room with a couple of young ladies when the phone rings.

I answer it and the conversation goes like this…

Me - Hello?

Voice (Definitely an old lady) - Hello - It’s Mrs Jones, I used to own the house you live in.

(I remembered her from when we bout the house several years earlier).

Me - Oh Hi! What can I do for you?

Her - I heard your mum & dad had gone to Greece, same place as me and my husband used to go, I was phoning to tell them about it.

Me - Sorry but you missed them but I’ll get my mum to call you when she gets back.

Call ends.

Anyhow, I forgot about the call until about 2 weeks after my parents returned. As soon as I remembered I told my mum (my brother was there too and backed up what I said).

My mum smiled as if we were winding her up and said “Mrs Jones couldn’t have called. She died four years ago.”

Ok so anyone could have been faking the call (would have had to do a VERY convincing old lady voice though), but very few people even knew my parents were going away and probably only myself, my brother and my parents knew of Mrs Jones that used to own the house we were living in.

Go figure.

It is unfortunate that I am so… uneducated.

So apparently there are scary-evil ghosts, and ghosts of old ladies that want to hand out vacation tips.

Huh.

Yup - by phone.

Check out channel Dave right now for some alien nutjobs.

Look behind you…through the illuminated doorway in the corner of the room … where there was no door earlier.

NOW shut it! and get back to your cannabis.
