There are soooooo many movies where I have read the reviews before I’ve actually seen the movie and I always cum out thinking the same way the critics do. That’s why I try not to read them before I see anything. A good example would be Cheaper by the Dozem (The Steve Martin version.) I read a few reviews and they fucking tore the movie up. After seeing it for the first time I felt exactly the same way. But then a few years later, I watched it and completely forgot about when I read the reviews and I found it just tremendous!!! Do you guys even pay attention to reviews??? Metacritc is probably one of the coolest sites around

I don’t typically watch a movie based on a single positive review, but I’ve never watched a movie after seeing at least three good reviews and not considered it good-to-excelllent.
Relatively recent Steve Martin movies are unreviewable IMO (edging just ahead of Rob Schneider vehicles), and are therefore beyond the scope of this thread.
Call it a guilty pleasure
I often agree with cult-classic type films with the exception of:
Napoleon Dynamite (what… the fuck?)
and that last Batman movie with heath ledger
I typically don’t see things the same way as critics, apparently, so I just write them off as pretentious asshats.

OK, but still unreviewable. Guilty pleasures should be kept in a shoe box under the bed.
Movie critics are stupid and smell bad, they’re like fat people on the bus.

Critics are like eunuchs in a harem; they know how it’s done, they’ve seen it done every day, but they’re unable to do it themselves. - Brendan Behan
I pay attention to Critic Reviews very much because it MOSTLY weeds out the bad movies. IMO Critics are a very important part of Movies. The only people who insult critics are cry babies who get butt hurt when they get low critic reviews.

It’s called not having a mind of your own, welcome to the life of mediocrity.
