How about the continental army?

Prisons?

Again, not enough to claim that “You didn’t build that, someone else did it for you…”

That’s just nutty. It’s a crazy thing to say and even a crazier thing to actually believe. But the socialist and chief speaks his mind.

I hope he does as well in the debates.

Now stop acting like a starry eye’d Obama supporter those days are gone!

He had four years and failed,…miserably! Pick someone else to idolize.

Quit claiming you’re so boot strappy that you don’t owe any successes in your life to anyone else.

Never said that or even implied it.

I owe the modest amount of success that I’ve had in life to the following:

-My own hard work

-The support of a great family

-Good employee’s

Did I drive a car over a bridge and think “WOW, good thing that bridge was there or I’d surely fail.” Nope.

Any tiny part the government (by the way the government only works with tax dollars and who pays the most in taxes? Uh huh) played in my success was nullified by the part where they tried to hurt me and others who build small business success.

The two biggest enemies of small business:

1-Government over regulation

2-Government over taxation

By the way unless or until you’ve walked down this road don’t be too quick to claim that I am incorrect.

Also, if government IS the answer why are we currently failing? We have the largest government in the history of our country. Yet, job growth is down. Obama is a miserable failure because he actually believes that “you didn’t do that someone else did it for you…”

It’s not about the governmet. The only thing that government can do to business is harm it or slow it down - It’s about the private sector being unshackled form government and then being able to grow and hire.

Ronald Reagan had it right. And if you think he had it wrong then why is it that he created 20 million jobs by cutting taxes to 28%?

And the people knew he had it right and gave him a record landslide victory when he was up for reelection. His opponent, Walter Mondale only won his own home state and DC.

Now tell me if your hero has it right why are things so very, very wrong? And why is he in such a tight election?

Slowest spending government in decades.

Businesses existed before government sponsored infrastructure.

Trying to say you need the government in able to make a business is silly.
How far back in history do you have to go to say that business existed before government sponsored infrastructure?
Your statement confuses fact with silly notion. It isn’t government sponsored infrastructure, it is goverment facilitated infrastructure.

It is simply that government facilitation of these things is a more efficient use of resources than it would be to leave such things up to the discretion of private industry.

Government takes money out of the economy in the form of taxes, and then puts it back into the economy as it pays private contractors to build roads, or pays citizens to protect and serve other citizens. Only on a small scale (local towns fixing potholes or cutting down trees etc) does the government actually perform the building, it simply pays private industry to do what it deems is the correct things.

Yes, 50% of the population pays for these services, including the private businesses. So yes, private industry owes a giant thank you to the whole of the citizenry, and it shows its thanks in the form of paychecks for the citizens, products the citizens feel are more valuable than the money it holds, and taxes paid on the profits of these transactions.

No business owner denies the need for the cycle of economic life, no business denies that the infrastructure is helpful to reasonable commerce. It is just that when you make a statement in the way it was made to fan the flames of class warfare, these facts get pushed aside by both parties, which is the point of making the statement in the way he made it.

It was perfect. He said it so that the worker would feel entitled to the praise that the owner gets, and at the same time insult the owner’s hard work. So this causes the worker to be upset when they see the owners insulted. So when the worker turns on the owner, the only institution left to “save” the worker from the “evil greedy owner” is the government.

It was very clever and worked perfect. It divided the country, and because the workers out number the owners, the government ends up with the advantage of numbers.

Funny.

But the republicans have nominated a passionless, tone-deaf robot, so it’s good for them that their base is so passionate. The sad part is Romney really was the best of the bunch.

I’m still convinced Romney doesn’t want the job anymore and he is going to say or do something that torpedoes any slim chance he might have at being elected at this point.

I have to say, Obama is probably the most intelligent man we’ve had as POTUS since Bush Sr. And before that, I would say LBJ, but i seem to remember him the one turning Vietnam into FUBAR status, but may be worng about that.

Obama has made government and government control popular among an entire generation of people, if not across generations but to a majority of the citizenry. A true scholar of history, much like what Hitler did in the 1930’s. (I’m not at all saying Obama is like Hitler, just they champion the same “government is the answer” cause.)

Well, when you look at the landscape and realize that you actually have to fight to re-instate true American values (individual liberty, private lives, the government isn’t your friend) and be cast in a negative light for it, why would you want to fight that fight?

You better look at your hero if you want to see a passionless, arrogant leftist drone. Romney on the other hand has actually built businesses. Unlike Obama, he’s been an executive and had to work with people in three different capacities; Bain Capital, head of the Olympics and Massachusetts Governor. And he’s hit it out of the park in all three jobs!

But, you are correct he was the best of the bunch for where the USA currently is economically. Romney is exactly who we need! If elected, unlike Obama blaming Bush, Romney understands the economy and won’t blame Obama for the mess he created the past four years. Like a good executive he’ll roll up his sleeves and get to work!

Hard to believe that anyone would say anything even remotely similar to the above. The man has worked hard in every capacity that he’s been in and has succeeded greatly. He’s spent the past several years running for President but he doesn’t really want it.

Sheesh Christine and I was taking you seriously before you said that.

I’m not so sure about Obama’s intelligence. I think he’s had plenty handed to him in his life for obvious reasons. I also think, judging by the number of vacations and golf outings, that he’s lazy as well. One more point, if you follow the speaking engagements of both Romney and Obama, Romney is out working Obama by about two to one.

That’s called P A S S I O N Christine!

But Obama does have passion…for his golf game.

But if you’re looking for raw intellect they say Jimmy Carter was one of the brightest who ever held the office. And…we know how that worked out.
