Note to self: Never, ever, get married.
Cayman Islands bank account… just sayin’
quick, sign all your assets over to me before she can get her greedy little mits on them. Trust me, it’ll work great.
Op does your brother(if you have siblings) have a spare bedroom he would begrudgingly let you stay in?
Not serious, best of luck during the future legal proceedings.
all I gotta say is… Good luck.

Off-shore establishments rarely deal with amounts under a million. As far as legality, he would be breaking financial laws.

I shared a few jail cells with some guys who would disagree with you ![]()
Went trough nasty divorce, well, not as nasty as the marriage.
Good lawyers are a really good thing. Mine buried hers…
I tried to keep as close to 50/50 regardless. She later screwed me on several points. But worst of all she has really messed with the kids…
Also, I was told that I was better off with a female judge of a certain age then any males or younger female. Saw stats to back that up…
Your in good shape, as long as you don’t get back with her in ANY respect.
If you have a copy of the first attempt at divorce papers signed by both your styling.
Get a decent lawyer.
Get this buried as soon as possible.
Too many people get their information/expectations from media, which portrays things for entertainment… The law is usually much more fair then what people expect.

I really do think I am in good shape on this one too…I do have a copy of the signed divorce papers (mine only, they sent her half to her obviously). I have emails talking about the relationships she has had since me as well as an admission that she walked out and didn’t put any effort into the relationship. Fortunately, I can’t even imagine getting back together with her, and fortunately I just got my first appointment with a quality lawyer. I am hoping to end this very quickly.
If you had “papers” drawn up over a year ago, that should have been your separation agreement. Which can basically freeze what she can or can’t get from that day on. I got one when I got divorced and it was money well spent, she didn’t get a dime from me from then on. I agreed to keep her on my medical for the year, she pulled some crap on me and I took her off it, never heard a peep about it.
You may be able to get her on abandonment since she moved out on you. If you have nothing big in assets and no kids, you should be able to get out of it unscathed. Even a shit-ass lawyer can handle it for next to nothing. The fact that she’s talking shit in an email means she has no lawyer. Be smart, get one tomorrow and strike first.

The “papers” were for a no contest divorce. They were signed, sealed and delivered to the queen’s court. It was rejected on the basis that we were not seperated for a calendar year. I have an appointment with the lawyer that I want to represent me, but he is busy so I have to wait until January. I have flipped the switch from being passive and trying to be a nice guy, to taking a more assertive approach and getting the job done.

If you want to be a bit devious, go interview lawyers - any lawyers - at the 5 best divorce law firms in town. Once you’ve met with them, their firm can’t represent your wife, even if they’re not representing you.
The only downside is that you’ll have to pay for the consult, but could be well worth it.
