I’ve read alot lately on this site that dairy sucks and can cause a host of problems. the thing is, i can’t find the reason why.
so my question is, why is dairy so bad for us?

It’s not, stop believing everything you read.
But thats what coach thib said.

So what? Do you have genes that produce lactase? If so, drink your milk and do your squats.
What if im partly lactose intolerant (i dont exert any symptoms)?
and in addition to that, what about the large insulin response?

It’s binary. You have the gene that makes lactase or you don’t. If you do, drink your milk and stop worrying about it.
I’ve gotta add that there’s this myth running around the “evolutionary fitness” realm that we’re the same genetically as our hunter-gatherer ancestors were 100,000 years ago. This isn’t true.
Agriculture and animal husbandry have found there way into the human genome in certain population groups of humans. Human evolution works very quickly. In fact, a paper just came out that said that the rate of human evolution has accelerated with increasing human population. It’s faster now than it ever was.
So these guys like Art DeVaney and other dilettantes (even though I’m one) who say that we’re hunter gatherers and can’t drink milk and eat grain and all this other stuff need to start paying attention to what the population geneticists are saying.

Do you think it is possible to evolve from lactose intolerant to bring on the lactose, and would it be worth the trouble to even try considering the fact that a person could probably get the same nutrients from other sources?
I drink a lot of milk because it’s easy.
But seriously right you shouldn’t have any dairy because this site is like the Bible of bodybuilding and nobody with a good physique has ever had dairy O_O
I normally try to get a gallon per day in me.
My a.m.shake is about 2 quarts of whole milk and 2 scoops of casein, maybe a banana.
I experimented for a few weeks of no dairy, just because.
All it did was force me to find another 2,000+ calories from somewhere else.
A gallon of milk = 16 cups
2% milk contains 130 calories per cup.
So 130 x 16 = 2080 calories in a gallon of 2% milk.
Whole milk contains 150 calories per cup.
So 150 x 16 = 2400 calories in a gallon of whole milk.
What about block cheese? it doesnt have any carbs (and therefore lactose)?

If you weren’t born with the gene, you can’t evolve it. Drink Lactaid or soy milk or eat a ton of broccoli, kale or eat a small amount of cheese. Or take a supplement.
Calcium difficiency probably wasn’t a problem for our ancestors because we had a mean life expectancy of 30 years.
but cheese has no sugar?

HAHAHAHAHAHHAA
Nate,
i dont get what ur lauughing at?
depends on your goals really and availability of food.
If you can eat beef and chicken all the time to pack in the calories, of course you wont’ choose milk.
But most of us in the living world don’t have the time and resources so milk is a great way to pack in the calories.
of course if it causes you to have the runs then don’t take it…

Well you CLAIM you’re “partially” lactose intolerant…and then follow that up by admitting you don’t have any symptoms.
i wasnt admitting i am lactose intolerant. but i remember CT saying that most of the poulation is lactose intolerant to some degree, and dont show any symptoms. so to be honest, i dont know if i am or not!

Stop worrying about what’s being written or said in articles.
Drink your damn milk and eats your eggs. If you get the shits, you’ve had too much milk and taking something like lactaid might help, otherwise just cut back on the milk.
It’s not rocket science. If you’re not experiencing any symptoms, why the hell would you be worried about it?
