Dig Through the Ditches

I think you’d rock at PT, it’ll be good for the world to have one more person that actually knows what they’re doing!

And I decided that I am going the PTA when I grow up.
there seems to be more opportunities than there are for RAD techs.
And it appeals to me more. And there a lot of different areas you can get into.
When I close my eyes I can see myself HAPPILY dooin it and that’s important. And I’d know how to Physical therapy myself, LOL!!

So now I just wait til we get to where we are going and apply!

In the meantime, I want to back to for a quicky job skill. There seems to be a need for Medical Assistants over Pharm Techs, but I reeeeally don’t have an interest in being a medical asst.

what to do what to do.

If that is something you want to pursue, I’d recommend being a PT tech in the meantime. I did that before getting into school and it gives you really good experience and makes the schooling a little bit easier because you’ve been exposed to a lot of the stuff. Plus it looks good on applications and what not. (and the pay and benefits are usually decent).

Legs are looking tasty!

That’s a good idea…and I’d LOVE to do that. BUT!! There doesn’t seem to be a lot of job openings for that. There is a Physical Therapy aide program at the shcool I was considering going back to for medical assistant. Would that make more sense to do even though there aren’t many job opps out there for it?

I just want a job skill just in case I need to hurry up and go back to work.

hmmmm

oh and thanks Patch!!!

I think I’ll still go for medical assist. And I’m sure if a phys therapy aide job popped up they would recognize my med asst cert.

Mim: Your legs are stunning–grouchy knees and all!

If my wrestling career takes off I will need a manager…

Uh, yeah!! Seriously, legs are looking fantastic!! Nice, MiMsy. Like Nadia said, grouchy knees and all.

In kindergarten we had to draw what we wanted to be when we grew up and I drew a dinosaur :frowning:

Thank you Thank you!!

I’ll be happy when I’m FEELING good too!

Backing off the training has been helping. And not only did I maintain my weight through Turkey day vaca, I’ve lost another pound within the week. That’s 5lbs in 1.5 months since toning it down some. I doubt it’s muscle loss?
And this article I found kinda seals the deal about how I was feeling.

I really was burning out! But I look forward to getting back…probably with a new approach.

right on!

Interesting article - so are you planning on eliminating the foods mentioned?

Dialling back my training (specifically, reducing frequency and intensity) helped me a lot when I broke my immune system a few years back. But sometimes it’s hard to find a balance between training sensibly within your limits and babying yourself. That’s the struggle I had (and still sometimes have) to deal with.

And you’ve become a VelociTRAPtor, so congratulations on winning your life!

HI MIMZ!

yes, I’ve already cut out gluten and have really cut back on the dairy. I don’t really eat potatos much, so that’s easy. Nuts are tough. I have a handful nearly everyday. (that doesn’t sound right does it? LOL!!)

But I can cut them out.

Maybe cutting out the gluten FOR REAL and limiting dairy has aided lbs lost.

GAWD you’re doing AWESOME dropping LBS right now girl so proud of you. Mah Tuff Tuff Soldier.

MiMsy! You’re legs are lookin slamma jammin! You’ve been dropping more weight?

I think I’ve become mostly flexatarian, lol. Beans and tons of veggies during the day and a little animal at night
Maybe that has something to do with the weight loss.

I’m not actively trying to lose.

Cal- I kwym. I guess I’ve been babying myself, but the way I see it is that I’ve been chasing my tail, pushing myself for a long time and not really enjoying it. Probably making myself sicker. I’m letting my whole body ‘heal,’ you can say. And I have high hopes for this new medicine that I am going to be put on. After a few more weeks of that, I’m sure I’ll be itching to hit it hard again…could 2012 be the year I FINALLY ditch these last 20lbs??!

I’ve walked 2-3 miles everyday this week and have been doing a lot of stretching…some yoga/pilates as well.
Back is not feeling any better

I’m giving my primary care manager a break because I know she’s annoyed by me at the moment, lol
If my back isn’t better after the new year I’ll ask for a referral to a chiro. It tightens up so bad I can’t sit longer than 30s.

oh hey Greg!!!

ya, been takin it easy…losing a few without really trying. Something new for me!

I hope this means after the new year when I DO start getting more aggressive the lbs will come off easier…(like a normal person)

^5

You don’t actually look as though you have 20lbs to lose. Maybe 10.

I’m 183.

Technically I’m ‘overweight,’ for my height. I want to be leaner and go down a clothing size or two. I’ve had 160-165 in my mind for over a decade because that’s the last time I weighed that after my son was born. Then the weight poured on and I haven’t been back since.
