Thanks for the <3 as always.
I’m still all stuffed up. I hate habing colds. ![]()
Do you all train when your sick?? I’m a big baby.
About the ‘weight loss.’ I’m still bouncing around and I haven’t been back since two weeks ago.
Sometimes I wonder if there is even a point to try and lose weight until my thyroid is all sorted out. It really sucks.
I’m hoping by the end of the year.
I have a cold now and I’m not training, much to my frustration. I don’t feel well enough. I know some people say “symptoms above the neck = OK to train” but frankly, I can’t give it my best when I’m feeling rough and I don’t think the body can adequately recover from training while fighting a virus (or fight a virus when trying to recover from training, more to the point). I certainly don’t think you should push it with your thyroid problems.
hey mimsy, love the Halloween costumes, we also love scarying the kids, big and little …muaahhaaa
I train through colds unless its in my chest or I have body aches. If its head/nose/throat stuff, I push on.
Not sure why. I offer no explanation for my criteria buuuuuuut thats how I do.

x2. I’ve heard it’s ok to train if the cold is above your neck, fwiw.
well I’m just an overgrown baby then. hmph.
You’re not. If it’s just sniffles - the tail end of a cold - then it’s OK to train. But if you feel shitty, then I’d concentrate on getting better. As I said before, if you already have health issues (thyroid, poor immune system etc) then trying to train is pretty stupid.
Well, good thing about not getting to the gym this week is that my knees aren’t aching. Also no gym=no energy drinks and I noticed that I haven’t had heart palpitations and I’ve been sleeping better. But that could be the nyquil.
Accept for yesterday, I went out and got the ‘good,’ OTC kind of sudafed. But later in the day the heart palpitations were back and I slept horribly last night.
Have I somehow made myself super sensitive to stimulants??

If the tests haven’t shown any results of an imbalance, what’s the next step for you? Must be so frustrating.
I would quit the energy drinks. Sounds like you are sensitive to caffeine. Do a detox and see how you feel. It can’t hurt if you’re sick anyway (and I feel your frustration on that - I feel like shit too).
K- the tests DO show imbalances. A lot of the time values can be ‘in range,’ but higher or lower than your body may feel best at. I’m not feeling my best.
And trying to find a Dr willing to look beyond the lab values and treat by symptoms is proving nearly impossible. And don’t be a stranger. Thanks for stopping in!
Cal- well, this should make training interesting then
All my own energy I have to muster…guess I’ll be listening to angry music again to get me through, haha.
I don’t remember being sensitive to caffeine before.
Although I never had good results with pills since I would crash pretty hard and would become almost addicted to them.
The heart palps only came about in June. I thought it was the b-vitmains so I got rid of those but it didn’t get better. I wonder if I could add the Bs back in if I ditch the energy drinks.
I didn’t have any heart palps yesterday and I didn’t take the good sudafed.

I’m like you doll full baby mode when sick!
just rest rest rest!
Hmm well that Sudafed stuff can be strong, I mean its part of making meth (watch Breaking Bad). I have weird heart palps sometimes (not very often). Get some magnesium into you too.
Take care my little delicate MiMsy.
Full baby Mode…lol, I like that.
teehee
Today is the first day I feel somewhat decent. I’ll take one more day off though to enjoy the quiet house. And hubby has a flight and won’t be back til kids are in bed…so these three hours are all I have for peace time.
I’m also going to use today to EEEEEAT!!!
I want to experiment with loading up on cals the day BEFORE the gym. I was using my gym days as higher calories days but realized it may work better to have that food energy stored to get me through my training instead? I need all the ‘energy,’ I can get since I can’t/won’t do energy drinks anymore.

I do this now, Germanone suggested it, and he seems to know my body better than I do lol
So because its an off day or just bunny day Ill not load all day, but do have a hearty amount with dinner (mainly leg day) it has made a huge difference in my “to struggle a little or a lot” training. I say try it out!
Glad your feeling a bit better.

Awesome.
And how many training days are you up to now?? I have 3-4. Usually 4. So my plan is to eat for what I am training for the next day. If it’s arms/abs for example, I won’t need that much. So in a sense, I am calorie cycling. Something I never bothered with before(counting cals/macros) but I think it will be a good shake up.
Out of curiosity,I’ve always wondered; how did G become your coach? (if you don’t mind sharing that is!)
I’m going to keep track of foods here again so I can ‘see,’ how I am doing and maybe get some pointers. And I just like sharing. ![]()
