Diet When Cutting

So for the last few weeks I have been cuting using the t-dawg diet. so far I have lost some fat and everything is going great for the most part. The only problem is eating practically the same thing everyday gets boring/bland making me want to cheat. I could change the diet but I would have to calculate 100 carbs and so on everytime.

I was wondering if when cutting do most of you strictly count the calories or can using something like a slowcooker be better. I would make sure not to eat to many carbs and eat every 2-3 hours the only problem of course would be going over on calories. any thoughts?

I dont know if this changes anything but I am at about 14-15% bf trying to get down to 8-9%.

Don’t worry about changing the whole diet around, just make substitutions. Substitute one carb for another, one protein for another, etc.

Just make sure that they have similar macronutrients, and similar calories, it doesn’t have to be perfect.

The other thing you can do is learn how to spice your food. Different spices can make all the difference. Basil, cummin, salt, pepper, garlic, chili powder, etc etc etc.

Just pick some that you think smell tastey and give it a shot.

Ethan, there’s two tricks you can employ. Write down every protein you like to eat. Figure out the number structure of your eating plan. By that I mean, figure out how much protein you want to eat each meal, how much fat and how much carbs. Then go to www.fitday.com or www.nutritiondata.com and look up the number of ounces you need to eat to hit your per-meal protein requirements. If you divide your protein requirements evenly across all meals, then it’s easy to trade one protein for another; the different proteins you eat become interchangable.

Do the same with meeting carb and fat requirements. It’s a little bit of work on the front end, but after that, you just pick something off your list to eat.

Do the same for your veggies, fruit

Also, do some bulk cooking on the weekend and make little mini meals for during the week. It’s a real time saver.

As far as getting tired of what you eat, send Chef Lisa Marie a PM and see if she’ll give you some ideas on how to make what you’re eating a bit more exciting. (grin)
