Diet Questions

Since I discovered your web site a couple of years ago, I started lifting weights and trying to lose fat. I have made steady progress. I have been dieting (using JB’s nutrition plan) and using HOT-ROX since January. My goal is to lose the fat roll but not necessarily to have a six pack. My motivation is that my family has a history of diabetes and I would like to avoid that and as I grew older I found that my strength was fading to an unacceptable level. I am near my goal but not quite there yet.

When I started to really be serious in January, I was quite surprised to find that I was seeing significant strength gains in addition to my body fat decreasing. I guess eating the right kind of diet does help. I have been struggling the last two or three weeks. I have pretty much stopped losing weight but the big problem is that I seem to be losing strength. I have some MAG-10 stashed away. Would a MAG-10 cycle help? Is that the right thing to do? If so, should I stop taking HOT-ROX during this time or should I take HOT-ROX at the same time?

By the way, I’m 48 years old, weigh about 202 and am at somewhere between 10 and 12 percent fat. The only thing that I have to check this with is an FatTrack II and I know that it is not perfectly accurate but I gives me relative measurements. This is the closest to being in shape that I have been since I was 19 thanks to you guys.

Thanks for the help,
Dave

48 YO, 20 lbs and 10-12 % BF? That’s pretty enviable.

The lower your % BF, the harder it’s going to be to go lower.

I’m kind of in the same situation as you are. When I’m finished with my current HOT-ROX cycle, I’m trying the Carbolin 19.

Can you cut your carbs some?

Take the MAG-10 in order to gain muscle, not lose fat IMO. Chances are you just have to adjust your diet to reflect your new body composition. MAG-10 is great though, it’s just that some people are very careful to use it when you are really stuck at a mass plateau because it is now banned and when you run out that is it.
