Diet Coke and Coke Zero
Cherrymennos wrote:

and then you’re too drunk to notice

I pretty much stopped drinking all fruit juice when I was pregnant. It has a crap load of sugar. I like to think of it as liquid death. Unless it’s mixed with booze then it’s all good. hahaha.

From what i’ve read Phosphoric acid found in cola’s “can” cause an imbalance in the body as the body seeks to neutralize the acid with calcium. “If there isn’t enough calcium in the diet”, the body will take calcium from the bones. Obviously the major factor here is the amount you drink aswell as lifestyle factors and nutrtion playing a huge role as well as the correlation / causation point so use your common sense on that one.

BUT!!!

Haven’t you noticed that :

Diet Coke is marketed at Women
and
Coke Zero is marketed at Men???

Its because of the word “Diet”…most men don’t dig that.

You can call me Shirley, but I’m drinking the Diet Coke…the other stuff tastes like Pepsi.

Real men drink motor oil and rip stop signs out of the ground anyway.

fixed

Mountain Dew Baja Blast
The soft drink of CHAMP-YUNS
AND
Best soda ever? Josta.

For the record, my vote goes to coke zero when head to head with diet coke.

btw coke zero and diet coke, and also sprite zero are all sweetened with aspartame. I just checked
olympianiac wrote:
aspartame is known by the FDA to be a carcinogen causing Brain cancer. they tested it in mice and at moderate to high doses of aspartame the mice developed brain tumors… i wouldnt touch the stuff with a 20 ft poll personally
Fuck that! I want to get my brain tumor the old fashioned way, from the cell phone!

I drink water over 90% of the time, but diet coke usually when im out for a meal or i pop into subway (free refils, of course). The way i see it until im really trying to get everything perfect(eg. if i were to ever 'diet down) its just unnessary. I have much bigger problems then the minor negative effects of it. It’s the best cheat drink everrr, especially for someone like me who isn’t into tea or coffee!

x2

There is a definite difference in the taste of diet and zero. He is right about the marketing though. Coke Zero is targeted to 18-34 year old males who dont want the calories but also dont want the stigma of drinking a diet pop. Thats why Coke Zero was attached to March Madness and Diet Coke is attached to the heart campaign for women. I know it sounds stupid but it is true, I work for Coke.

I figure if I’m going to have a soda, I want it to be good and sugary, but I really only crave sweet drinks 2 or 3 times a year.

The diet stuff is kind of like going down on your cousin; it tastes the same, but it sure ain’t right.

Man I wish analogies weren’t “IN” right now.

No talk about Pepsi Max? That’s targeted to the male population also, but it’s my no-sugar drink of choice. Must be a left-coast think, no?

Diet Dr.Pepper wins hands down.

Here’s the rundown, kids.

In soft drinks, sucralose>aspartame.

Pepsi>Coke.

Pepsi Max>lesser quantities
Diet Pepsi>greater quantities

Straight Cola>flavored Cola(much like tobacco, alcohol, condoms, etc.)

Colder>warmer, until the sno-cone effect sets in.

Diet Dr. Pepper is a strange, enigmatic creature.

Who else has a hard-on for the sound opening a can of soda makes?

Wow, you x2’d your own post…

got to admit I lol’d

There was a sale on Coke Zero, so I ignored SOP.

Occasionally the lion must eat grass.

Diet Barq’s Root Beer FTW.

I have found I’ve done myself a great favour by quitting drinking any sweet tasting drinks, whether by real sugar or not. I believe, but have no proof, that these things all contribute to to preference for sweet tastes and make it harder to tolerate unsweetened foods and increase cravings. This has been my experience.

Now I only drink unsweetened coffee, tea or carbonated water. Pop and juice are now too sweet for me to enjoy, which makes it easy to not drink it.
Tea, water, or training drinks for me. The carbonation in anything fucks me up. I hate it now, and so does my body. Having the peri-workout sweetness in my protein/carb or carb drinks works for me. My body deserves better fuel than whatever shit is put into sodas, diet or not. Since cutting them out, I have no desire for them anyway.

If I was going to choose a soda or die, I’d go with diet barq’s or diet orange sunkist. Orangina is good shit too. Haven’t had that in years though.

I love when people say shit like this and then eat meat, eggs & milk off a grocery store shelf.

Unless people are eating free range/organic meats (which doesn’t always mean what you think it means) you’re ingesting shit just the same. And I would speculate it’s worse than salt, caffeine and color number 47.

I’m not trying to pick on you hockechamp14 specifically, just when people say that it makes me laugh.

I drank 5 bottles of diet IBC root beer one night (it was tasting great) a few months ago after not having much of any carbonated drinks for a while and had the worst cotton mouth all night. =(

So yea I guess Diet Barq’s FTW then.
