My last blood test showed my T4 Total was 3.7L mcg/dL and my T3 Total was 62L ng/dL. My T3 Free shows as ok at 3.5 pg/mL and my T4 Free shows as ok at 1.1 ng/dL. I heard that Oxandralone was unfavorable towards lipids but I didn’t see anything about T3 & T4. I took Oxandrolone for 6 weeks and was wondering if it was the culprit? Along with TRT I was also on Nandrolone Decanoate. My T3 & T4 have always been fine on TRT. This was my first blood test after adding the Oxandrolone and Nandrolone.
What doses are you taking for TRT and what doses did you add and for how long?
TBG depression just like SHBG with 17-AA AAS.

Thanks for the links. I see my low Free T3 & Free T4 is. It caused by the Oxandralone according to the studies. I also started taking Minoxidil but didn’t consider that and figured it was the Oxandralone.
Baseline vs oxandrolone? Your title implies T4 and T3 but now you mention fT3 and fT4???
Which ones dropped vs baseline? Be specific.
I started mid 2022 at 100mg/week Testosterone Cypianate for four months and increased to 120mg/week for the next four months and then 200mg/week for one month, 250mg/week for one month and then between 280-300 for about one month. I then had that last blood test to see where I was at at the higher dose.
Sorry, I confused the Free & Total. My Total T3 & T4 are reporting as low. I went through all my previous lab work and only have the following results for Total T3 & T4. I don’t know why Total and Free aren’t standard for routine yearly blood work. I’ve never really paid attention until starting TRT and only now learning what everything means and what to look at.

June 2023
Total T4 was 3.7 mcg/dL (Range 4.9-10.5)
Total T3 was 62 ng/dL (Range 76-181)
Prior to starting TRT in March 2022 my Free T3 was 2.8 pg/mL and my Free T4 was 1.09 ng/dL.
Prior to starting TRT in April of 2022 my Free T3 was 3.0 pg/mL. My Free T4 was not tested.
In Jan 2023 my Free T3 was 3.5 pg/mL. My Free T4 was not tested.
In Feb 2023 my Free T4 was tested and was 1.19 ng/dL.

Gotcha. This makes sense that total T4 and T3 reporting low. FREE levels should stay pretty constant on oxandrolone.
TSH, fT3 and fT4 are standard tests. Total does not give you much more.
I’ve gone back down to 120mg/week Test starting back in the beginning of June and stopped both the Nandrolone & Oxandrolone. My next blood test is mid July. Very interested to see all values back to normal, especially HDL. I figured six weeks was sufficient from what other members said in this site.
