Did Noahs Arc Really Happen

What I do know is Mr. Zimansky was not alive 4800 years ago and therefore completely incapable of administering the scientific method which invariably requires observation and experimentation.

Another question, what if another university historian/archaeologist who specializes in that particular region came up with a different date frame for what was happening archeologically in Turkey at that time? Who would be “right?” Mr. Zimansky or the other guy?
So what you are saying is because no one was actually alive to personally observe various historical events firsthand, we should disregard all evidence, no matter how sound or plentiful, as to what occurred because we can’t experiment to be sure? Or do you perhaps feel he is simply spitballing in regards to what he feels was happening at that point in history?

This is, of course, keeping in mind the fact that we are talking about a giant flood that lasted quite some time and supposedly decimated entire civilizations, not quibbling over the fine print of history texts.

Welcome to the thought process of the biblethumper. Good luck trying to figure it out amigo.
Push, I do admit that it just now occurred to me how incongruent your apparent religious beliefs are with your advertised life style. Would you care to reconcile that little apparent paradox for those of us who are curious?

Done it many times extensively on several other threads. It has nothing to do with a discussion about Noah’s Ark. PM me or use google. Keywords: pushharder, lust, adultery, covet, sex, Divine Sex. The latest thread (about two months or so ago) lists links to the previous threads. I’ve explained things so much that I simply don’t need to go over old ground again especially here.

You’re about the fifth person in the last month to bring this up on PWI and it is a perfectly appropriate question for another place and I don’t mind you mentioning it.
Given how much it gets asked, you might be better off creating a txt file on your desktop with the links to the threads you mention for a handy copy/paste solution. This won’t be the last time it is asked and you and I both know it.

Maybe I’ll hire you as my agent to take care of this kinda stuff.
There was some amateur (and I stress amateur) archaeologist in the 1980s that claimed to have found it in the mountains of Turkey. The guy also claimed to have found all sorts of stuff like the Ark of the Covenant, and I think maybe the Holy Grail or something. Obviously, he didn’t find these things. I would say the chances of finding a wooden boat built some 4000-5000 years ago are pretty much non existent. And yes, I am a believer in Noah’s Ark.

I did watch a program several years ago where a model-sized replica was built of Noah’s Ark based on the information in the Bible. They simulated extreme waves and showed that the boat could have been turned up at a 90 degree angle and still not have capsized.

You may very well be right, however, if the thing was encased in ice at high altitude it would have the best possible chance of preservation.
It was an engineering marvel for stability for sure.

Anything is possible. I can’t remember that guys name that said he found it, but I want to say he worked at a college near my hometown in TN. They should have made an Indiana Jones movie about Noah’s Ark instead of these crystal skulls.

Substituting one fictional object for another wouldn’t have made the film worse, that’s for sure.

Well, I don’t like Shia Lebeuf either, but I assure you he is real.

I was right and wrong. The guy’s name was Ron Wyatt. He was a Seventh-Day Adventist, but he didn’t work at Southern Adventist University like I thought. He was from TN though. He claimed to have found the following:

Noah’s Ark
The Ark of the Covenant and the Ten Commandments
Mt. Sinai
Jesus’ crucifixion site
The Tower of Babel

All that and nobody ever made a movie about him? If he was still alive we should have him looking for bin Laden.

He should’ve offered package tours.

I know one thing. I wouldn’t have paid to see the Ark of the Covenant. I wouldn’t want my face to melt off.

I am interested in the size of this ark they found.

Give them time to build it first.

Well, back to what I said about the possibility of anyone finding Noah’s Ark. Think about the Titanic which sunk about 100 years ago, was made of solid steel, and is in total decay to the point of falling apart. What makes you think a wooden boat built some 5000 years ago or so would still be intact? I’m mean, despite the fact that someone new finds it every other day.

Because the ocean is very corrosive.

Ok, you both make valid points. Remember, I am a believer in Noah’s Ark. I just doubt it will ever be found or is still intact. It really doesn’t matter. Someone that says they need to see Noah’s Ark to believe in God or the Bible would doubtfully actually change their mind after seeing it.
