hmm i hit a bench PR of 235x2 today… and also got to level 9.5 on the bleep test which is a huge improvement for me. tried for a deadlift pr of 400 but i could only get it about an inch off the ground. [/quote]
I thought you weren’t going to log anymore until after fire season?

…jokes.

Epic PR for your bench!! Nice work.
Did you try the deadlift PR after benching? Probably wore yourself out with the max effort.
What style do you deadlift? The grip-dip-rip style allows you to utilise the stretch reflect in your hamstrings better - could be the difference between making a PR and not making it.

yeah i’m not going to log any of my workouts… i’m too lazy, but i figure PR’s are still worth a mention haha.

yeah i was so close to getting 400, i already do the grip-dip-rip thing you speak of, but no go this time. I figure a fresh session with some caffeine and i’ll be good to go!

Haha yeah I started drinking a strong black coffee before workouts… man it rules.
Keep the PR updates coming!
That bench is really good. That was my best for a single last time I tested haha… fml. Narrow or wide grip?

medium grip. my shoulders don’t let me do wide grip stuff. but i’ve been fire fighting the last 9 days so no workouts for me!

woo hoo! hit deadlift PR of 400 lbs… FINALLY. although it almost killed me. and sadly i had to use straps. my hands were all sweaty. need to work on grip strength.

Congratulations on the big 4-oh-oh! Strong stuff!

Well done! That 400lb mark is a very satisfying one to smash. Why did it almost kill you - grinder was it?

As for grip - do you use chalk? I use magnesium carbonate based rock climbing chalk - awesome stuff and it’s the difference between making and failing a lift.

yeah it was a grinder with a somewhat rounded back too i think.

as for the grip i’m not to sure what happened. when i hit 385 grip wasn’t even near an issue, but when i did 400 my grip actually failed on the 375 i did before that (albiet on the way down so i still counted it).

as for chalk, no i don’t use it, but maybe i should get some

Do it, man. Mine costs me $5 for a month’s supply and probably adds 20kg to my pull! That’s good return right there…

that’s what I use… great stuff!

20kg you say? that seems like a hell of alot! haha.

but yeah ok you’ve convinced me!

I guess what I mean is I wouldn’t be able to pull over 200kg without chalk. Money back guarantee :stuck_out_tongue: let me know how it goes!

haha.

as for your other (previous) supplementation recommendations, i still haven’t found any mothers to fuck! haha. which is too bad cause i really want to be strong as a motherfucker, and the most logical way to get there seems to be … being one!

That sucks dude. What’s the point of being a fireman if you can’t pull mad cougars???

YES YES CHALK is a must !!

ANd I agree, as a fireman you should very easily be able to get some MILF’s. WEll, MYLF’s. YOU want to fuck them, not I.

hmmm, you’re a mother right?

i’m thinking i’m switching to sumo deadlifting. it makes more sense for my arm to body length ratio. lol.

The MILFs have spoken: firemen and chalk for all! And that is very thoughtful of you, Jen. Leave them for the rest of us!
Also, have you done that standing ab wheel rollout yet?

haha yes, the milf’s have spoken… chalk and milfs for everyone!

I’m doing this program again -

“For the next forty workouts, pick five lifts. Do them every workout. Never miss a rep, in fact, never even get close to struggling. Go as light as you need to go and don’t go over ten reps for any of the movements in a workout. It is going to seem easy. When the weights feel light, simply add more weight.”

its simple and it works.

i’m doing sumo deads, bench, squat, tbar rows, farmers walks.

also i broke my 6km run record this week. I did it in 32:56 which isn’t great but its like 3.5 minutes off my previous best (36:22)!

going to Hay River, NWT for a fire or two… haha. should be different.
