On my latest regimen, I am on 150 mg of test cypionate split into 2 injections twice per week. My last bloodwork was taken on Oct. 3rd displayed a reading of 44 ng/dl (DHT). Prior to this, I was on clomid which raised my test, but my DHT was below normal at 23 ng/dl. Then, I got test cream from Defy medical and I applied testosterone cream on my sack every day for about one month. My test levels dropped instead of elevating, so I switched to twice-weekly injections. Considering that I drink booze every day along with a crappy diet, would affect my conversion? At DHT level that I’m at now (44 ng/dl), Is this okay?
The information above shows both of my labs on TRT (75 mg 2x/week) that I have been on for about 4 months now. The T:DHT ratio has me particularly concerned because of the comparison between both values that indicate a possible 5AR deficiency. I expressed this concern to my doctor, but based on my physical appearance, he does not think that I do have a 5AR deficiency. He would likely know because he treats patients in the LGBT community - some of whom have rare genetic disorders (5ar, XXY syndrome, etc.). After 4 months on my TRT regimen, I don’t feel that much different than before. Why are my lab values lower than before? What should be my next course of action? Does HCG or Anastrozole have an effect on my blood levels?
You need to start including lab ranges. You wouldn’t be the first guy with SHBG on the lower end to not do well on TRT injecting moderate to large doses.
Biology is ever changing, other hormones fluctuate all the time and this causes a change in testosterone, you will not always be on the same T dosage. It’s not common to see men injecting the same dosage for several years, but small course corrections every now and again.
I would take the word of Defy doctors over some sick care endo any day of the week.
