I brew test and Dhea in oil
But Dhea has way more volume then test powder
Why is that so
I bought 10 grams of powder(big difference for same weight)
And it came out to 50 ml
While test powder only came out to 20ml?
Here is a whole pack of dhea (10 grams)
And 10 grams of test powder weighed out what’s wrong
Because weight and volume are not the same thing.
So it’s possible? For the Dhea to be larger? Even thought it’s same weight
Example:
Weight your beaker and then set it as the tare. Crack an egg in the beaker. Now you have the weight of an egg. You can see how much volume it takes up in the beaker. Pour it out of the beaker and into a bowl. Get a mixer and beat it vigorously for 60 seconds. Put it back in the beaker. Weight it again. It likely very close (probably lose some small percentage of the weight due to the residual that sticks to the bowl and the mixer paddles. But the volume is now 5x what it was. The magic of density. The porosity of each individual compound will cause them to have different volumes. If you packed both powders into separate bags and pushed all the air out of them they’d still be different because you removed the air from the dead space around the material but not inside it. A more porous material will hold more air and moisture, thus have more volume. Something with lower porosity will be more dense. DHEA is evidently very porous.
