You look skinny in the still from that squat video.
Mostly unrelated to your training, but what weight class are you planning on being in at the end of September? I think we have to decide on tuxes soon and I have a feeling that fitting every single one of you guys is going to be a pain in the ass.

I’m probably going to be back in the 215-220 area by September. I’m putting back on the food bag and gaining weight again.
What cues for the deadlift would you give somebody who has a hard time using his hamstrings (all lower back) and keeping a fixed back angle in the beginning? Perhaps some good cues for “loading” the hamstrings?

Hey man, I’ve noticed that you dislike the Westside method for building strength, but you work up to one top set on your main lift. What’s the difference? Not trying to stir the pot, it’s an honest question.

I’ve been dieting while using 5/3/1 this past cycle. The weight loss affected my strength a little bit, so I only did the prescribe reps as oppose to doing rep maxes.

Ah, gotcha. In general, do you prefer a straight set or ramp approach?

What do you mean?[/quote]
I mean, do you normally work up to one top set, or do you generally do several sets at a set weight? Current program aside obviously.

Appreciate the reply. Trying to get opinions on straight sets vs ramping. Tried ws4sb a few times now as personal experimentation and always wind up a little smaller and weaker. The top set thing just doesn’t make sense to me. Good luck with your goals bud.

I always go towards the side that the more volume you can do, the better.
