I would like to notify to everyone that for people who have thyroid problems, such as sub-clinical hypothyroidism, who fly under the radar with doctor’s, that there are reputable companies out there who sell dessicated thyroid. The contents of dessicated thyroid is T1, T2, T3, T4 and calcitonin, which are derived from either bovine or porcine sources in it’s natural state.
These companies sell the same product as the popular Armour thyroid brand, but because they do not claim any health benefits, they are not bound under law for their distribution of their product. As a result, they are legally allowed to export their product to the world.
The reason why I am saying this is because I know there are many people on this forum who have thyroid issues and can not convince their GP/endocrinologist that they have a thyroid issue. This dessicated thyroid can be more superior to synthyroid depending on what type of thyroid problem you have.
