A good day, great pump, definitely a feel good day (while getting some good stuff in). Was concerned about my elbow coming in, but took the time to really warm it up before hand and it seems to have paid off. A good one in the books.

Expected weight to be up, was ravenous yesterday (could tell I hadn’t pulled from the floor in awhile, I’m always very hungry after I pull from the floor) and while I kept myself (relatively) in check, I feel like I ate more than I have been, but came in lookin’ and feelin’ same-same, so no complaints here!

Edit: Struggled bracing, abs were torched from yesterday, good and sore. Moved up another notch on my lifting belt (from 5th hole to 6th only 2 factory holes left :thinking:) at least for OHP (more stretched out) but it’s something I’m going to fiddle with come squat day.

Was not prepared for today mentally or physically, ha. Body is sore from the minimal abdominal work I did the other day, bracing sucked, and 345 felt way too heavy, almost cut it at 1 or 2 sets, but 3 x 3 was the minimum I had in mind coming in. Another day, another dollar in the fitness bank, right?

2 questions come to mind:

1: you did the Hardgainers template in the beginning, said later in the log that you would do that template again. So what made you change your mind about doing the hardgainer

2: How is the race to 950 with @lord_humongous going?

Hey man! Thanks for stoppin’ in. Yeah, I’ve enjoyed having a log here immensely, some good constructive conversation and also some really hilarious shit haha
To answer your questions:

  1. I had the best of intentions of running it again, and then started chasing more top end double and single strength and just kind of lost sight of it, as of right now I’m kinda/sorta running on the 5/3//1principles, but once my motivation wanes (or i stall hard) that’ll be the first template I hit up because it was awesome.
  2. it’s going well, he’s got me by weight a bit on the total I think, but he busted his ankle up so we haven’t done too much trash talking at the moment, ha.

A much better workout than I expected. Buddy got a hold of me just as I was finishing a big ass glass of wine (cuz I’m a classy bitch) so I said to hell with it, let’s go! Worked up to that triple at 85% which moved really, really well, along with the 4 sets at 245 (~83%) man, I’m stoked. Now to a Chinese buffet.

Weight: under 200 all day? This is new territory, will fix that with buffet.

I’m a Wendler guy myself. But not lifting as much or not even close. I was about to change to another template, and just forgot the hardgainer, I might try that one, when it’s time to change pace.
Hope @lord_humongous will be back in the game soon.

@mortdk Lol good to know people still care about me :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Ankles healed up well. Not back to pushing the weight I was yet, but making progress. I’ve taken a step back from pushing heavy squats every session, and focusing more on conditioning, getting unfat, and trying to look schmexy. You can check out my log if you want, nothing too interesting in there though

A good day, some of the reps at 90% were a bit slow, but they were solid, not grinding slow. The 3 x 8 got into my lungs a bit more than I anticipated, may shift into a hypertrophy type block (cuz I’m super advanced and shit :face_with_raised_eyebrow:) and work from 70-85% for the 8-12 range to get some of that endurance and rep strength back (and also for the magical 3x10 gainz.)

Weight: Expected to be back up over 200, had our winter party for work (late Christmas party) and ate a lot of good food and had a couple whiskeys, then the wife baked some sweet treats yesterday, so I put 'em away like a champ, haha

All in all, a good start to the week!
