Maschy - Thanks! I’m glad you liked the trailer. I’ve really be working on those camera skillz, to the point that I have a hard time watching my old shaky-ass videos. Feedback from non-dodgeball players is cool too because 95% of my friends are dodgeball players and to them I could do no wrong. My BF, who has a masters in fine arts, does critique the hell out of my work - constructively though. Some times it sucks, but it really ends up making me better.
I almost didn’t make it down to the basement to train last night. After coming home for the grocery store I headed right up to my computer to work on my rough cut. After a few hours of cutting I realized I left all my groceries out in the hallway facepalm Anwyay - I kicked myself off the computer at 10pm.
Thursday’s training:
I really was planning on doing squats, but my BF wanted to as well. He’s been having a hard time fitting in his training, so I conceded the rack to him. I was pretty busy hopping around anyway!
n - thanks! I just keep at it day after day. I finally feel like I’m gaining some momentum.
I had quite the busy weekend. Usually I have all of my Christmas shopping done in November, but not this year. I was out battling the crowds on Saturday. It was a full day of shopping, but I got everything bought and wrapped. Including a little something I have had my eye on and have been saving up my video project money for - a Canon T3i. I bought it primarily for the HD video (I’m shooting my docu on a borrowed 7D) but I’m really enjoying taking pictures with it too. I have so much to learn.
Training seems to be going well!
I hope you’re going to use your new toy to show us some eye candy! My little Cybershot is easy to use but the vids are not good (which I noticed today when doing some for my log). No money for a new one though.
Patch - Thanks! I think it’s the crazy Christmas rush that makes me a little flakey.
With the Christmas craziness I haven’t really had a chance to log too much. I did see my physio on Thursday and she had me doing some work on the agility ladder (weee!) as well as 1-foot hops. I still have a little swelling so no running yet. Maybe when I get back from holidays.
Now I have to go pack because my BF and I leave for Thailand tomorrow morning for a couple of weeks to visit his dad. I’ve never been before so I’m totally stoked. I’ll certainly be taking lots of pics and video while we are there. Sunny beaches here I come!
Too bad it was a short trip, I feel like I have so much more I want to go see and do there. We did manage cram a lot into our short time - plenty of temples, jungle trekking, beach time, crazy strip clubs and lots of shopping.
I’m trying to get back into the swing of things right now, but the jet lag is kicking my butt a little.
My goal this weekend is to go though my pictures and pick out my favourites to print and share. I went a little camera crazy and took a couple thousand pictures, so sorting will be a bit of a task.
As for my knee, it was a challenging two weeks, but it held up well and my confidence in it has increased greatly. We did so much walking and hiking that it was pretty fatigued by the end of each day so I can’t say that I really kept up with my exercises, though it wasn’t like I was doing nothing at all.
Despite the jet lag, I tried to get back into routine a little last night before going out to the bar for a dodgeball event.
Sanctuary of Truth - An amazing wooden building blending four types of wood with carvings that depict Buddhism and Hinduism. This was one of the most amazing things that I saw on this trip.
